Bitcoin may makes war unaffordable but it won't fix the cruelty some humans.

Peter does not care about wiping out millions of innocent kids, women, men that just happened to be born in the wrong country and not in a peaceful one like himself.

By his logic how many other countries - of people not overthrowing their evil regimes - should be wiped out to get rid of all the evil people? Wipe out 500m, 2bn, 4bn?

This has nothing to do on which side you are. This is about being human or being a soulless warmonger that has no problem wit killing hundrets of million innocent people just because he thinks to know every aspect of history, powers at play and also has the moral high ground about that topic.

You have not provided a single argument why wiping out entire nations would be justified. There is no such case where this will be true, no nation no matter how bad their regime is, has a population that is entirely supporting what that regime is doing. Not to speak from kids who are neutral in every possible way.

I've met Peter a few times and I like him. He's always taken the time to explain complex Bitcoin Engineering topics to me, and does so with enthusiasm and some humour. I've also conversed politics with him, and concluded that his genius in engineering topics is likely the same trait that results in a highly polar view of political issues. Let's remember that peoples' politics can change; there was a time when my views on some things weren't too far away from Peters. Opinions are often dependant on the people around us, our information sources, and in my case, a few experiences with mdma made me see the world a little differently, which almost certainly led to introspection and a shift in my politics. Calling each other out (especially in CAPS) often gets pretty cringe. Differences in opinions will prevail.

Anyone who has spent any time with the Iranians or Arabs, will realise they are incredibly proud people. They have a strong culture and strong beliefs.

They live in one of the harshest environments on the planet 60oC by day and -10oC or more at night in places. They have survived this for thousands of years. Their laws are tough for a reason; beacuse Nature is tougher.

Despite this, they are enormously generous. On many occasions travellers will be welcomed and provided incredible hospitality. They are smart, astute, careful. And like us they celebrate family. These are the people.

We in the West have been abusing these nations, for far too long. They are angry now and understandably. It is time to recognise our wrongs and attempt to settle debts.

I don't endorse terrorism anymore than I endorse your actions Peter Todd. There are two sides to every story, just like you have two ears and one mouth. Try to use them in those proportions. You might lean a little.

Incidentally you also have two eyes not one.
