nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll is it possible to get an alternative authenticator we can leverage on our phones and desktop?

nostr:note1khqgmjqvrnpq2r6ryt46p8w66x8qv8a39ecuywxpa83yu9emvgts4dphru

Bitwarden apps includes an authenticator. IIRC Vaultwarden is available in the Start9 app store.

It takes strength and control in the abdominal muscles but it's a cleansing exercise and is more about cleansing the digestive system.

This is one of a number of kriyas, or cleansing practices, in hatha yoga. Others include taking a thread through the nostrils and out the mouth, swallowing one end of a long thread down in to the stomach and then pulling it back out, drinking a large amount of salt water in short succession till the body pukes it back up, and sucking water up throught the anus to induce I kind of self enema!

Honestly loving this setup. If you've seen my original lightning node setup tutorial, you know how intricate this stuff can be. Alby Hub streamlines SO much. I've now got nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg and nostr:npub1cwneqlnjgs3rdtk97c2ffy2df9dm5zycgj3dsg8c3z00hchxjmfqtvraju going directly to my own nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll node, plus nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 connected on mobile.

So even if I self host I still need an nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm account?

LOL. I don't particularly have a horse in this race by the way, but I do find it amusing to see people making claims that they are defending reality when the apparent reality to me seems to suggest they are in complete denial of it. Watching people twist themselves into prezels to try and validate their beliefs is also pretty amusing.

I'd be happy to look at any evidence that chemicals in the water are responsible in some way but it honestly sounds like something you just pulled out your ass because it sounded like something that would support your opinions. I'm aware there's hightened levels of estrogen in some water supplies that could cause some variation but that doesn't do anything to explain why there's been variation stretching back into ancient history, and across localities and cultures.

Intersex people exist. 1-2% of the current global population in fact, and again there's good evidence to suggest they have existed throughout our history. Sex is simply not binary, it may trend towards 2 norms, but deviation from the norms is also "normal".

Genetic diversity is literally the spice of life, we wouldn't have evolved beyond the most basic of lifeforms otherwise!

You are claiming that you are defending reality in one breath, and in the next claiming that reality apparently has errors in it. Reality doesn't need defending, it is simply what is. The supposed reality you defend is simply in your head alongside that supposed standard template of a human being.

Likewise, trans people exist. That's just a fact. And in quite large numbers I'll add. Why have you taken it upon yourself to decide what is right for them, that they are defective, or that you know how they should go about handling their identity issues (assuming it's currently presenting as an issue for them).

My only real point/suggestion here is to perhaps spend less time concerning yourself with what others are up to, and just like get on with your own life and shit! (*disclaimer: I don't know you, and don't want to draw too many assumptions, maybe you don't spend that much time thinking about this stuff at all, I just notice that a lot of people do).

It doesn't seem like it can be very fulfilling to be spending a lot of your life concerned with the way others choose to live, and the kind of satisfaction gained from "othering" isn't going to satisfy for very long or in any meaningful way IMO.

Anyway, again, I don't really have a horse in this race. Just my 2 sats.

Yeah, government organisations just generally seem to be the worst offenders on this kind of stuff! And the rest is mostly on behalf of the government anyway.

Hang on, have you been looking inside my brain?

That fire scene is mental, I kinda wish it was actually based on a pic of me to be honest (it's Carlito Brigante fro Carlito's Way). Nice work!

I didn't give any notice to anyone! 😆

I'd been thinking about it for ages but in a moment of disgust at both the content of my feed, and myself for still being on there, I though sod this and immediately went and hit the nuke button!

It's not like many people care much what I have to say anyway, and I'm not someone who cares about follower counts. Just glad to have separated myself from that shit show!

Pura Vida!

Slightly embarrassed to say I'd slipped back into doomscrolling on the cesspit that is now called X!

Feels good to have now totally nuked my account. Fuck that shit! I realised that even if there's a broader range of topics over there rn that I can't in good conscience continue to support Elon's freedom of speech larp. Besides, we need real solutions, and even if I found my views more in alignment with his, we're never going to get censorship resistant social media through a centralised corporate entity like that. It's just not gonna happen.

Nostriches are the future! This place continues to build and grow, while that hellhole over there seems to be eating itself from the inside. I choose life!

Will probably continue to be mostly a lurker tbh, but won't be splitting my lurking hours between here and there anymore.

All those of you that are making this thing happen fucking rock. LFG!

You're not understanding what I'm saying at all. Cheese and moon are conceptual frameworks we build in our minds to navigate the world and communicate with other people. They are not objective reality. Of course someone can decide to build a conceptual framework that is completely out of accordance with what everyone else is agreeing on, like the moon is made of cheese, but it's not going to help them much socially and it obviously doesn't make the thing that everyone else is calling moon become the thing that everyone else is calling cheese.

We form social concensus around how we label different patterns that we observe with our minds and through our sense organs and society is currently having a problem reaching concensus on how we classify gender, some saying it's purely biological, others saying it's more complex than that. Neither framework for viewing the world is objectively true because they are just frameworks and it's our job as humans to decide which one fits best. I choose the one that grants the most personal autonomy for individuals.

This weekend my home town is host to one of the largest 🏳️‍🌈 Pride events in the world, people flock here to celebrate the diversity and inclusion we are blessed with in our local communities. Brighton has it's problems but I fucking love living in a place where freedom of expression is not only tollerated but celebrated. It's probably the friendliest place I've had the pleasure to live. Certainly in the UK.

Being home to one of the largest LGBTQ communities here it's really not an unnusual experience for me to see trans men and women on the street, or to see gay and lesbian couples holding hands or embracing. It's a normal part of life. "Normal" people doing normal things, going about their lives, and not bothering me in any way while they do it.

I don't come on socials much but increasingly when I do my feeds are littered with hate towards trans people - it's unnatural, they want to mutilate your children, corrupt your minds, burn civilisation and all that is good to the ground. Please!

It's like me feed is constantly telling me that my neighbours are my enemies. I refuse to accept that. I don't really care all that much to go in to the science or philosophy of what is and isn't a man or a woman because while they might be interesting topics it's always more important to me to accept people as unique individuals and to interface with them as such.

People are interesting and diversity is the spice of life. All I can really wish for others is that they find the freedom and strength to fully express their own uniqueness. 💜

No, I'm not saying we can just change ultimate reality with our minds and suddenly turn the moon to cheese or anything like that! I'm saying that truth is illusive because we rely on interpretation and models and that people fixed in their view of what it is are suspect. Reality is not to be found in the opinions of men and I don't believe there's any rules passed down from on high that say people mustn't alter their bodies or appearance to suit their identities.

If anything it's people that say it is "unnatural" or wrong to live out such desires that are in denial of reality because reality is showing us over and again that it's not particularly unusual for humans to want to do so.

But yes, it's all certainly become very politicised and I won't deny that there are difficult social issues around things like trans in sports, which public toilets trans people should use, or what advice should be given to youngsters with dysphoria, that I don't have the answers for. What I don't think is useful is othering trans people, or labelling them as an abonimation to nature, or imagining they can just magically stop being the way the are because a bunch of ultra conservatives object to their existence.

Trans people exist, that's just a fact. If you object to that you are not reinforcing reality you are fighting a losing battle against it.

Not only identity issues, all mental constructs are essentially delusions. Whatever ultimate truth or reality is we don't see it because the tools we use to interpret reality by their very nature dissect and filter it through all kinds of complex processes, most of which are themselves beyond our own cognition. Using terms like man or woman are simply labels, people may use them to point to very specific biological patterns within this shared delusion as markers to help them communicate but they are still only labels and don't really have anything to do with what is ultimately true or natural or right. That's all just stuff we make up in our heads. And how we love to make stuff up. If there's one thing humans will always do it's try new things, explore new avenues, and break the rules. Gender reassignment is hardly amongst the most extreme of these. Also in terms of messing with our genes and biology we may well see way crazier things than gender reassignment within our lifetimes! The way some people freak out about trans folk I'm not sure how they'll cope with what's coming!

What we mostly call reality is at best a blurred reflection of the real thing on the scratched and torn surfaces of our minds.

For that reason I'm always very suspicious of people that are very certain about what reality is because they're generally more lost in their delusion than the rest of us and often have a desire to impose that view on to the rest of the world.

As a last note, saying that terms are just labels that we make up is not to say that there's not something biologically distinct that we can point to and say "male" or "female", that can be a useful delusion, or mental model, to participate in for sure.

If somebody came to me asking for advice on their gender dysphoria and what to do about it I wouldn't be comfortable either encouraging or discouraging any action, definitely not surgery or hormones, but would more likely help them find support from communities and professionals that understand what they're going through better than I can.

If someone was attempting to mutilate or kill themselves I'd obviously try to talk them out of whatever stressed state they were in. It's a different situation.

I understand there can be all kinds of complications with gender reassignment, and some people even strongly regret it later. Again, it's not my business to say what's right for any individual. For some people it seems to have helped them. Good for them.

That government socialises the costs isn't a problem unique to this specific kind of care, that's a problem across the board. I don't really like that I have to cover costs of people that live unhealthy lifestyles either, but it's still their own business if they want to drink, or smoke, or eat cake, or whatever.
