before you fall the first time, your resting position will be standing. Otherwise you wont be falling.
Fall down seven times, stand up eight.
(Japanese Proverb)
I’m very sorry, Roya. I am glad you were not in the car when the accident happened. I hope the driver survived as well. It looks pretty nasty.
I have been seeing your posts and the roller coaster of events. You may not see it now, but this too shall past.
I don’t want to cross the line, but when I face struggles, all I want are practical and realistic perspectives to get myself out of problems. Should you need the same, this might come in handy. Otherwise, feel free to skip it.
1. As long as it's not life and death problems, there are fixes. A friend’s father told me once, what can be solved with money is not really a problem. That helped me value situations differently.
2. Try to find ways to pull yourself out of the negative buildups. Otherwise it will get worse for you emotionally, physically and mentally. My stress diffuser and escapism has been books - on one of my worst year I hit 450 books. Find something that can help you snap out of this. It won’t be easy, but you are strong and you can.
3. There is no miracle or quick fix or saviour to get you out of this mess. And that’s ok. You got this. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you will start focusing on figuring out solutions. Have faith in yourself, in God or any external force you believe if you need that motivation. I recall you mentioning you practice Zoroastrianism. Faith is a powerful element. You will bounce back up.
4. If the car is a total lost, it’s ok. It’s just a car. A great car. But still, just a car. The memories you created with your friends in the car will live in your heart and mind forever. What matters most is that you are alive. There’s Uber, Lfyt these days, and cars in the US are still dirt cheap in comparison. You can and will get another.
5. If you want to look for a diff job, get past “putting it out there to the universe” and take serious actions on it. Do up your resume. Send it out. Start applying. Reach out to all contacts that you know. Just do it. And see where it takes you.
6. You will need time to recover from pneumonia, at least 2-3 months. Working in a job that was harming your lungs and health was not a wise move. Don’t do that.
7. That means tho you will need money to sustain for the next 2-3 months. This is a bearable amount. Either take a loan from your family, friends, bank etc to avoid getting evacuated or you will have to cut back as much cost ie let go of the place and live with family or friends that can help you for the next few months. I know you love your place but I’d encourage to cut back cost and stay away from debts as much as you can. Debt stress and finance stress is a diff level of stress
8. Once you have the 2-3 months to recover health wise, focus on getting hired the next 2-3 months. Try to attend as many interviews that will gain you exposure and experience. Fine tune your interview-ability each round and keep getting better.
9. And once you lock down a job you align with, repay what you owe and rebuild back your life. Find a better place, a better car.
10. No matter how hard you fall, you can pick up. This journey is going to remind you of how strong you are. There's a Japanese proverb “Nana korobi ya oki” which translates to 'Fall down seven times, get up eight'.
I know this might seem point blank but I’m very certain, if you have a wider perspective, you will have better opportunities to make great decisions.
Every difficulty will force you to find new ways you never knew existed, strength you never knew you had and new skills you adapt.
You will come out of this, and you will be better for it.
You got this. 🫂
The comments on https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38718544 are proof that we can't make "just apps" and have people use them without knowing that Nostr is a thing. Users must know.
And in fact I think it is much easier to teach people about Nostr than about why your damn app doesn't have email+password login and where is it storing things and how does moderation work without telling them about Nostr.
And when they finally understand the basics of Nostr they will suddenly understand everything about not only your app, but about all other Nostr clients.

these lines are so powerful :
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
And history hides the lies of our civil wars
When they shot the man
Who said "peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
what's the best book you've read this year ? 📖
Merry merry Christmas to you and your fam Rabble. Glad you manage to move and get past the storm in time to celebrate !
TIL, lambada was once a forbidden dance
My Nostr predictions for 2024
Today marks one year since I joined Nostr. It’s been a crazy year, but I have a feeling that 2024 is going to be much crazier. Here are some predictions:
1. Nostr social media clients will become insanely good. By the end of the year we will surpass the legacy social media clients in terms of UX and features, making them look like relics of the past.
2. More lightning wallets will implement Nostr integration. By the end of the year Nostr will become a de facto standard public lightning directory.
3. The bitcoin bull run will bring more users to Nostr, adding more gravity to the network.
4. At some point, a massive new cohort of users will join Nostr. We won’t be ready for them. Relays and other services (indexers, media hosting, etc.) will struggle to support them. After some hiccups, the Nostr ecosystem will adjust.
5. With the increased network activity, spammers will return in force. They will be sophisticated and relentless, putting all of our spam mitigation services to the test.
6. Long form notes will become much bigger on Nostr.
7. At least one “other stuff” content type will take off in a meaningful way.
8. Nostr’s censorship resistance capabilities will get tested in a major public episode.
9. The AI community will get much more interested in Nostr. They will be attracted by the idea that open source language models, combined with Nostr’s open social graph and publicly accessible data - could actually democratize AI.
10. By the end of the year everyone - even the haters - will realize that Nostr is going to win.
11. nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx will accuse me of not being bullish enough.
Anyhow, GM ☀️ and Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏻
thank you for the great client nostr:npub16c0nh3dnadzqpm76uctf5hqhe2lny344zsmpm6feee9p5rdxaa9q586nvr . Merry Christmas and here's to an adventurous 2024!
awww, what a precious gift. Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful new family ♥️
Bet if there was a brain scan comparison between people of all social media, Nostr would show a wide range of inter-connectivity, and general sense of calmness
Is this town Aguas Calientes? The jungle rising into the mists of the mountains and the river running through it, sounds like an incredibly picturesque scene! The ancient Inca citadel always looked mystical. Did you hike up the Andes Mountains? Machu Picchu sounds awe-inspiring!
finally watched Transformers : Rise of the Beast. So good! Machu Picchu is def a must visit place on my list
Fido over the years 💚 12 more mins to go here, Merry Christmas everybody!

In the 50s, the world had 2.5 billion people; now it exceeds 8 billion. Over half the population are between the ages of 22 and 65, with a median age of 30 - and they require jobs.
Some countries must create a million jobs a month to meet this demand. It's becoming more apparent day to day that traditional ways of creating jobs are no longer going to be sustainable.
At some point, we need to empower people to be job creators instead of job seekers.
Nostr, especially “the other stuff” is an open digital canvas inviting everyone to build anything - and the only thing that’s going to limit you is your imagination.
Empowering individuals as entrepreneurs and creators will generate ample opportunities. This approach not only supports local employment but also addresses community-specific needs, eliminates currency barriers and contributes to fulfilling global requirements efficiently. And instead of relying on gov’ts to “create jobs”, this can now be done on a wide and rapid scale, by the people, for the people.
There's a lot to Nostr and i think 2024 is going to be a very empowering year globally
Mood.
This song has been looping in quite a bit this week thanks to nostr:npub1r0rs5q2gk0e3dk3nlc7gnu378ec6cnlenqp8a3cjhyzu6f8k5sgs4sq9ac . Also this video BTS is probably my fav version
If someone asks you what's your 2024 resolution, say this and see what's their reaction =) 😂
