Human beings have not evolved beyond Dunbars number. To assume that anyone *can* or *should* keep up with the interactions produced by people choosing to follow them, when they exceed Dunbars number by orders of magnitude is to ask them to be inhuman.

When the unrealistic expectations we have put on them are not being met we become aggrieved. We feel slighted because we were not interacted with as a fellow human should.

Are we justified being aggrieved, IMO no. The technology is putting us in situations that will create the kind of feeling, slighted on one side and apathy on the other. Either don’t use the technology or use it with the limits of humanity in mind.

After the third refresh in a period of time a message telling the user to go outside with increasing aggressiveness for each additional refresh?

Or the most disturbing events from the internet start appearing in the feed as the only updated events?

I’m still learning who the chase Oliver guy is. I don’t think voting for president does much. And I think investing more energy into yourself, family, property etc is orders of magnitude more important. But if I’m going to do it, and I typically do, I can’t imagine voting for any other party than LP. It may be a dumpster fire, and I may not personally agree with the personal opinions of every LP candidate but if I’m going to spend anytime voting, it’s the closest to what I think the size and role of government should be. I’m not going to deviate from that because one bad is screwing the other bad.

Yes I think this must be the case. They vine for 4 to 6 feet. When I first started cracking open seed catalogs I could find pole beans, and bush beans, but where are these half runners I’m supposed to get. The internet says they are an open pollinated mixed lineage from bush and pole beans. But I don’t know if that’s true. I can’t be certain if these are the same but you can search for ā€œmountaineer half runnersā€ they look right.

Hypothetically it reduces the variance in the amount you get rugged yourself. If you assume some distribution of mints that will eventually rug you, say 10%, and you use 10 mints on average one will rug you and if you distributed your sats evenly you loose 10% of what you held in mints. If you had all for sats in a single mint you would have a 10% chance of losing it all, but a 90% chance of keeping it all. The expected value is the same. But one strategy has less variance. And humans are usually risk averse so you like reduced variance. But the expected loss would still converge to the percentage of mints that will rug you either way.

I will have to try that. I planted radishes again mostly because I wanted their tops but haven’t quite figured what makes a radish good yet. Does the roasting mellow them?

There is a type of green bean that all the old timers/ grandparents in our area would say is ā€œThe green beanā€ you should grow nothing else is worth your time. We call them ā€œhalf runnersā€ I haven’t found large seed suppliers carry them. But you can buy them at local feed and seed stores in a brown paper bag. I’ve grown these beans and my experience is that they are very tough and chewy. Maybe I’m just bad at growing them. But they are excellent if you are canning or making ham, potatoes, and green bean dishes which are typically cooked for half a day around here. They hold their texture and don’t turn to mush. No one said why the half runners were must have, the older generation just assumed you would be canning.

I don’t know how common potatoes, green beans, and ham is outside of southwest Ohio. Maybe very common? But around here how long that dish is cooked is tied to the expectation you are using half runners. But it’s all unexplained and unspoken.

Might be true. I’ve frequently thought the sleepless nights of various kinds especially in those first three months may have a detrimental impact on health. Wouldn’t be the first species that would sacrifice themselves for their progeny. Because that kind of is the definition of parenthood.
