Theory: I have this theory of probabilistic influence where i think it might be possible to turn up the temperature on a person algorithmically.

In the old days intelligence agencies had to have direct contact with a would be shooter if they were going to groom someone for an assassination, today I believe it’s possible via algorithms, targeting, online groups etc… to do all of that remotely with no direct engagement.

The new thing isn’t digital grooming. That’s been happening.

It’s more like an algorithmic volume knob where you can increase the probability that something happens to someone.

We already know that modern algorithmic environments can increase baseline risk factors in a population the speculative leap I’m making is something like… you can take someone from >1% risk of assassination to 20% risk of assassination and your hands are never anywhere near the murder weapon so to speak.

I have no proof this theory is real. I have no proof that power has shifted from direct coercion to probability shaping, this is just something I think might be happening.

Pay attention to the words used here.

Optimal level = subjective

More effective = subjective

Real-world needs = subjective

Bad actors will inevitably want to co-opt #Bitcoin and turn it into something they can control by adding vague subjective requirements.

We already have that with fiat money and it’s clear that experiment has failed.

Bitcoin’s value lies in its resistance to subjective determinations and the whims of weak minded individuals.

I'm going to try my absolute best to not get offended by *anyone* on social media anymore. Anytime somebody comes in with some stupid comment, or makes a giant list of assumptions and basically accuses me of something retarded, or is purposefully demeaning, I am not going to react with trying to "one up" them or get super defensive. I'm just going to answer any points or contradict their premise where it makes sense. And where its just totally useless or there's nothing to even argue with, I won't engage.

I'd take the "bias" question even further:

bias is not just personality, it's life.

Every living organism must have biases to navigate everything in a world where there are so many threats that random choices (aka «everything is equal»/«the truth is somewhere in the middle»).

You can't survive enough to reproduce if you don't have biases that inform your behavior.

While I was at the Bitcoin Conference, my husband was like “alright let me know when you’ll be on so I can livestream it.”

So I had to text back, “Okay so, right now Kennedy is on stage, and then it’ll be some wizards debating with a ninja, and then I’ll be on after them. I can explain later.”

Quitting alcohol is trendy lately.

Which is totally cool, alcohol is a poison and is absolutely terrible for your body. So I support you entirely.

That said I have some rules for my relationship with alcohol.

1. You should drink rarely. Once or twice a month at most.

2. When you do drink though, get drunk. Otherwise what the fuck is the point.

3. In celebration? Always. In sorrow? Never.

4. Never around my children to excess. No kid wants to see the man they depend on out of control.

5. And lastly and most importantly I never forget the advice my grandfather gave me which is being an alcoholic isn’t about how often you drink, it’s about the consequences that come as a result of your drinking. If you have consequences as a result of your relationship with alcohol… it’s time to stop.

I don’t understand people who think bitcoin and the dollar will coexist even when the price of bitcoin skyrockets. Bitcoin beats the dollar on both a monetary and technology perspective. Sound money running on an open source network can’t be beat by a fiat currency running on a closed network.
