Most of ‘web3’ was really just web 2.1. Things that appear to be doing so much more, but are mostly reliant on browser extensions and plugins.

Who didn’t see this coming? The people falling for the latest round of the free speech grift and attempting to dunk on previous ownership don’t really know Jack (shit).
My guess is that this will take 2 years to unwind. Celebrities leaving don’t matter until they pop up on better services/protocols.
It’s been proven over and over again that people are willing to pay for content as long as it’s not extremely restrictive or difficult to use. The ones who want to pirate were likely never going to pay anyway.
Update on our bitcoin mining ASIC work https://www.mining.build/update-on-our-bitcoin-mining-asic-program/
Good luck with everything Jack. It’s something that’s concerned me regarding bitcoin mining post 2013.
Since the topic of ASIC resistance came up…the idea is to make it easier for everyone to hop on board and participate with widely available resources. If bitcoin took the approach a popular privacy coin has we’d have even more ‘bitcoins’ out in the wild.
I would assume many are spectating to steal ideas. Give it time, even Twitter took a while to onboard people and wasn’t all that different to the public feed view we see on Damus.

I can’t wait for this nonsense to end.

I will NEVER have one of those things in my home. It’s bad enough I’m already paranoid about my phone as it is.
I’d argue that most authorities do know what’s happening with Bitcoin in 2023. It’s just that they haven’t figured out a clear way to attack it yet.
Taxing centralized mining facilities is a start.

Yep, I sat in on many of those clubhouse conversations and it was cringeworthy. I didn’t speak much, but was a bit eye opening at the radical shift in discourse compared to when I first heard about Bitcoin in 2011.
There is an unfortunate connection that Brock highlighted about an hour ago. Many in this space are perfectly fine with authoritarians as long as they are able to get rich and ‘be left alone’. Beliefs strongly held with arguments that are clearly not well thought out.
I’ve been following you since your start Ray. What you’ve done with Paxful is always right at the top of the list when people ask me about stories about Bitcoin. You understand local economies that many in privileged situations won’t even know where to start.
It’s incredibly frustrating to still see friends get scammed on websites out of bitcoin. The old ‘send money to unlock withdrawal’ scheme. We need easier self custody solutions.
