I want a generic way where I just point it to an http server that I've customized to work my own way.

I don't know if there is a NIP for it, but I really want a client to allow me to configure my personal media upload server with some sort of npub schnorr sig attestation along with the file upload.

It's tough to reveal some of it since it's a spoiler either for the novel or the other adaptations. I'll try to be vague. If I recall correctly, you can get the gist by reading the first chapter or two of the book.

The Spacing Guild is a much more important aspect of the story than what the new adaptation made of them. In fact, they are a prime mover of certain character motivations. In the Dune universe there are two schools of thought, the Bene Gesserits and the Spacing Guild. I don't think viewers of the new adaptation could even say what the Spacing Guild does even though I think they are way more interesting than the Bene Gesserit.

There was also an interesting fighting technique the Bene Gesserit practiced called the weirding way. The new films seemed to have none of that, either.

Unpopular opinion, but Dune 1984 was better.

While the new adaptation was entertaining and a very well executed production, details that made the story cool and intriguing seemed to have been sanitized out. I don't know why the writers did this. My guess is it was an attempt to simplify the story and universe to make it more approachable to a mainstream audience. Of course David Lynch would never have stooped to that level, and perhaps that's why his adaptation is disliked.

I often hear criticism of Lynch's Dune that he added things that weren't in the book. But this new adaptation removed so many important things that were in the book to the point of completely changing character motivations. Lynch really did not add that much, and things that were added could be argued as unimportant or merely a way to adapt a concept for screen.

I switched to it several months ago even at the higher price and it has been great. It's a much better quality than the competition if you have the hardware to support it.

Crazy talk. You're supposed to figure out how to make your descendants hodl it for you.

It's stuff like this that makes Wikipedia a bad source. An educated guess is that it has to do with improvements in aerodynamics. The politically motivated editors here would rather reference The Guardian as evidence.

"Hear those noises in the attic? It must be ghosts."

I discovered this recently with a fresh install of Win10. I found it can be bypassed by hitting the reset button. The hook to display this dialog only happens onfirstt startup.

CPU is def not the bottleneck for chain sync anymore. Seems maybe more of a disk i/o issue. Bitcoin core does this weird dance on load external (blocks already in file) that seems to not efficiently use disk. I seem to have hit a wall of no additional improvement despite upgrading.

Are there clients that let you see messages which only exist on a specific relay? Surely you might read only from a specific relay, but some messages published by others might have been published to many relays.

Rules for ordering output satoshis so that they are no longer fungible. Rules are enforced by social consensus. Nothing about them are secured by PoW. It's a meme.
