Make them give up all their wealth and don't allow them to own hardly anything, even after they get out of office. Then you'd weed out all the politicians that are totally motivated by self interest and get ones that are more interested in serving and sacrificing for their country.

I get takeout a lot and the portions are usually larger than they should be for a single meal, but I eat all anyway. I do have eggs for breakfast and steak maybe once a week. When I make food at home I have more appropriately sized meals. After working all day though I usually just want to pick up something quick so I can get home and relax.
