How can you take nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx seriously when he says "drivechains bring shitcoins to bitcoin" when the point of drivrchains is kind of the opposite?
The zcash sidechain gives you zero-knowledge privacy foe your Bitcoin (if you trust 51% of the miners) and you don't have to buy zcash.
Either stupid or dishonest.
but also, stay humble and stack sats

you're right, it's not nice to imply influencers are wrong because they're not technical (though I suspect that does explain some of it, since it's literally no riskier than liquid et al. (just a differebt group that can steal)).
I am genuinely curious though, pretty weird to see them all writing convoluted walls of text about drivechains in the past couple weeks.
Why are non-technical bitcoin influencers so afraid of the growing support for drivechains?
lmao, best critique of drivechains I've read.
You get a vote for every block you find so at least it's not just glowing reddit staff controlling all the votes, it's POW
I run a node on tor. Works just fine
reality is not gdpr compliant lol
but yeah, in most other respects, cln wins
lnd has openbsd binaries and can be crosscompiled effortlessly. cln can maybe be compiled manually on openbsd but none of the tutorials I found worked with recent versions.
cross compilation for cln would be so complex it's not even worth considering as an option.
Consider how much the mainstream expert economists get wrong (and lie) then consider if your trust in nutrition experts ia any more warrented (its just as stupid as trusting mainstream economists dude). Save yourself from this hell before its too late
true, but if opting out works were going to need a whole parallel economy with hundreds of millions of participants. Anything short of that will be crushed
L2 =/= Lightning
Could be zk rollups, anything. Like I said, it may not even be needed if adoption rate is low. I highly doubt the whole world is ever going to use Bitcoin much less Monero anytime soon, if ever.
Bitcoin only scales better than Monero if you are transacting completely unprivately. Start throwing in coinjoins and it start creeping towards Monero tx size and in whirlpools case surpasses it. Obfuscation is also weak privacy, nothing is hidden, the connection graph and range of amounts are all visible. Available to potentially deobfuscate with future data.
The tx cost of always doing this is also not scalable/sustainable.

Agree. But the fact is, monero had no L2 at the moment.
