You can change the app language in iOS settings. Settings > Damus > Language > English (US).

How did everyone get interested in software, and what do you hope to learn or build next?
My dad got me interested in computers when I was 5 years old during MS-DOS days, he showed me the command line, games, and built computers on his spare time. When I was 12 years old, I was exposed to IRC through online game matchmaking. Coded my first computer scripts on mIRC, and almost immediately knew my dream job was (and still is) to be a computer programmer. The rest is history. Took all the computer science and engineering courses, and joined the FIRST robotics team in high school, went to university for computer science, moved to San Francisco to build a career in technology.
Hope to learn more about Bitcoin and Lightning. Admittedly, I’ve understood them to only a certain degree, but convinced that they are the future of money. Excited to build on decentralization concepts like nostr. Excited that technology has advanced so rapidly, meaning more people are learning and building life-changing concepts and experiences on top of these foundations. 🤙🏼

I prefer Signal. However, since there’s no group chat implemented on Damus yet, and the main Damus development group chat is on Telegram, I’ll make one for the Damus translators on Telegram for now to be consistent.
In English, the rules on quantities are “one” (zap, follower, etc) and “other” (zaps, followers, etc).
In Arabic, the rules are “zero”, “one”, “two”, “few”, “many”, “other”.
In Russian, it’s “one”, “few”, “many”, “other”.
Transifex as it stands currently allow translators to only translate “one” and “other”.

Hey, #Damus translators. I spent a bit of time today looking into some translation pipeline issues. For languages with different pluralization rules from English, such as Arabic and Russian, the translators aren’t shown the other plural rules to translate. The English .xliff file that is exported by Xcode doesn’t follow the plural format that Transifex expects, which is why this breaks.
I’m thinking of switching to translate .stringsdict and .strings files directly, which seems to fix the issue when I tested it briefly. I'll try to change it in a way that doesn't lose all of your hard work. It will lose change history and filed issues / comments, though. Sorry about that!
Instead of the 1 file that you're translating, it will be 3 files. Hoping to get this change pushed out this weekend.

Yeah, we already have the pluralization rules. We’re just passing in the wrong variable when determining quantity. Fixed in this PR: https://github.com/damus-io/damus/pull/646 #[2]
