I think nostr:npub180cvv07tjdrrgpa0j7j7tmnyl2yr6yr7l8j4s3evf6u64th6gkwsyjh6w6 is saying the reverse. Explicit links to snort.social would get changed to nostr: links.
It would be pretty hard to do since there’s infinitely so many clients and different ways in how they approach constructing the URL. Should there be a NIP that specifies that shared Nostr web links should attach a query parameter so that 1) other clients know how to parse and navigate to the URL, 2) doesn’t mess with the path routing in the original web client if in the browser, and 3) works universally for links shared by any Nostr web client?
For example, https://snort.social/p/npub1yaul8k059377u9lsu67de7y637w4jtgeuwcmh5n7788l6xnlnrgs3tvjmf?nostr=npub1yaul8k059377u9lsu67de7y637w4jtgeuwcmh5n7788l6xnlnrgs3tvjmf (or whatever NIP-19 identifier)
Value for value ⚡️⚡️⚡️
One difference is that Nostr needs people to make it better into a compelling alternative to Twitter to the masses.
There’s already compelling alternatives to Apple but many choose to stay. So let’s fight for those people.
It’s not black and white. I’ve used Android and Linux for over a decade and prefer Apple now for UI/UX. Intuition and difficulty are subjective and varies by person.
I’m uninformed but user experience is subpar and I’ve heard that there’s security issues around storing private keys but I haven’t verified yet.
I’ve walked it all and am acutely aware. This isn’t about begging for permission. It’s about fighting for freedom of choice for those who are uninformed or aren’t capable of doing it themselves.
For iPhone users, I don’t think the answer is to give up on Apple, unless you want the ideal solution right now — then it’s move to Android or whatever freedom favour. I used Android for 10 years and Ubuntu for 15 years, so I’ve tasted all the OSes extensively. I prefer Apple and the apps that developers build on their platform because of their UI/UX. The answer is to keep pushing at Apple’s boundaries until they budge for as long as we need. Ultimately, it should be about user choice, regardless of if you have to fight for it or not.
Wow. Apple rejected Zeus’ app submission.
“Guideline 3.1.5 - Business - Payments - Cryptocurrencies
Your app facilitates the transmission of a virtual currency but was not submitted by a corresponding exchange or recognized financial institution.
Next Steps
To resolve this issue, please provide documentary evidence demonstrating you have the necessary licenses and permissions to distribute an app with cryptocurrency exchange features in all the locations where your app is currently available.” nostr:note1cvf2xae8p5pvkxkwhdnayxqaun7a7ryk29exfc745d5hty4qft7qzln778
What an arbitrary distinction.
Web apps definitely feel non-native and sluggish. I will always use native apps where available.
Not true for Twitter. nostr:note1ydzxqj0m4tv4fvcgjcnqt972y942ftukm3a20r0q9mmdwxtw5yuqukx6zl
So I think we should all start sending Lightning invoices in Twitter, Instagram and Facebook messages.
Then Apple will be forced to remove those apps, right? Because that’s what they’re doing with nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955
Twitter allows tipping via Lightning to your Strike wallet as a first-class feature. I can pay the invoice with any Lightning wallet. It also has other modes of payment: Bitcoin address , Cash App, Venmo. It’s literally no different in Damus.

Twitter has tips on the profile with Lightning via Strike, Bitcoin, Cash App, Venmo, etc. We should try to keep at least profile zaps on Damus without the split payment stuff and note zapping.
Nostr list management is surprisingly brittle. There’s no true versioning scheme or eventually consistent stability. It’s currently just overwriting the version of the list you managed to fetch successfully and broadcasting that everywhere. Not sure how you would solve that problem in a decentralized system. nostr:note146vr8480vvvvxcksqujle4weg6a6nwurw6cxzt9d3ngaen9yptpqun00am
Which client made you lose your contact list?
Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 are failing me on work calls and personal use, for audio in and audio out. Random disruptions in Bluetooth connectivity, ear cushions wearing out, one piece fell out and missing, left headband comes loose when fully extended too far. I’ve used them for three years, since the start of COVID.
AirPods Max — worth it? I have only Apple devices. It’s “on sale” on Amazon in the US.
“It could allow users to follow accounts they already follow on Instagram, Meta's image-sharing app.
And it could potentially allow them to bring over followers from decentralised platforms such as Mastodon.”
