Sounds like centralization with extra steps.
Most relays refuse most content. But i can still copy my notes between relays, and anyone can read from my private relay. And anyone can spin up a relay thats wide open. And theres no "federation" to worry about. And relay owners cannot impersonate users. Thats what real decenteralization looks like.
So in this example where the user's account was banned, if he created his own instance, would he have access to his old identity and content? Would his instance be allowed to communicate with other instances and share users and content? What about if he allowed hatespeech on his instance?
Yeah and there are Facebook clones on github. People spin them up all the time but they never gain traction.
That's precicely why nostr is so revolutionary and bluesky is just another boring old social media platform.

Right, but unlike nostr you cant take your identity or content to a new instance. The server owner still owns that stuff
