As someone who has first hand knowledge of increasing numbers of kids chopping off body parts in what was once a beautiful city and has now sadly soiled itself, the following comments hit home.
Challenging, tough questions need to be asked and addressed for the western world to get back on track... and cozy cushions are not going to get us where we need to be. Kudos to both of you gentlemen for the excellent discussion!
This is based on non-sensical hate speech laws. Both the left and right push it in different ways. Wake up people... it's all about control and stifling freedom of speech.
I think wise men think much further down the road than 4 years... they planted this seed right after 9/11 and have been patiently waiting for the right time. The country wasn't ready for it then. Now after a significant number of Americans brains have been fried by the entire covid experience, they are much more pliable and ready to "roll up their sleeves" as it were. If we succumb to digital IDs, CBDCs, and/or social credit scores I think we are toast.
Real ID is a Real bad IDea.

I want to be positive, so let me start with sharing that my journey to nostr has been excellent. I'm very happy and satisfied with the experience and looking forward to watching it further develop.
Here's the bitchy part... the ai bots blow... their daily likes and follows are noise and signal disruption. If they're going to waste my time, at least throw me some zaps. Can't wait for the development of a "verified human" check box to users profiles.
Also, I've seen several posts from people wanting to ditch the bots that routinely show up. In my case, I've had to mute them multiple times, not just once before they eventually quit showing up.

You should definitely try stuff like Cashu out, it's pretty awesome. Couple things:
Nuts, mints - these are terms involved in the Cashu ecosystem. I suggest trying out a Cashu wallet like Minibits (Android) or cashu.me . We just experienced the most chaotic week in markets since 2020.
Pure carnage across all asset classes.
And Bitcoin bottomed at $75K. A price that many of us were dreaming of just 5 years ago during the covid panic.
Now we're back at $85K as both the Fed and Trump have made it clear that they will do whatever it takes to prevent bond yields from blowing out.
"Whatever it takes" ultimately all leads in one direction: The Fed stepping in as a buyer of bonds with fake money.
That alone is a catalyst for BTC.
But consider this: This week terrified a lot of people out of their Bitcoin. We've shed loads of weak hands since topping above $100K.
And now the most reliable long term indicators have reset.
We aren't even close to overheated and we're at $85K.
What happens if we get Bit bonds? What happens when the Trump admin starts acquiring BTC?
Who's going to be selling now that a lot of would-be sellers have already been shaken out?
This past week was about pricing in a complete nuking of the existing global economy.
Now it's being slowly walked back piece by piece.
I've been leaning bearish and setting expectations low since $96K in February.
But tonight, with my ear to the ground, I'm starting to hear the rumblings of the bulls.
They're charging in from a distance, ready to slay some bears.
Trump and the Fed both blinked this week.
The bond market is the funding mechanism of a government that runs a multi-trillion dollar deficit.
It will be respected.
And if it demands tribute, Jay Powell won't hesitate to sacrifice the dollar.
I don't know how high we go in 2025.
But I'm starting to think this past week will look like a generational buying opportunity by this fall.
And those who panic sold will rue the day they forgot what they owned.

As someone who hasn't jumped into any of the new payment systems (payjoin, cashu, nuts, mints, etc.), are all the devs working on these projects competing against each other for the best app? This year I plan to start testing, but just curious how this space is developing. And if so, why do you like Payjoin over others?
People fade it because their social media of choice has reached network effect, and the nostr engagement has not matured... as you say, so what. It's a great place to be... glad it's my go to.
