Given that Greenlight is yet relatively new/unproven, and so is Breez SDK, it's produdent to keep providing the embedded LND lite node, for the time being.
I would make that architecture decision down the road, when you gathered experience w SDK+Greenlight
The OG citadel! Before citadels became a thing
So, wallets that will be backed by the Breez SDK (such as Breez itself, i would guess) would offer all its users a native reusable LN payment code (=bolt12 offer), right?
And Zaps could go to Offers, instead of/in addition to LN addresses. Huge
Is it already part of the SDK?!
Who knew there was a `lightning_payments.decode` function on Postgres' standard library all this time?
Full documentation should be at https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/functions-lightning.html

Hell no. The replies would get flooded and you loose the signal
Also, would be good to have some sort of coin control i.e. ability to select the mint from which you want to spend a certain invoice/request
What sucks UX-wise is if your Total amount is spread across multiple mints, then user tries to spend all, and it presented with: "not enough funds" (bc you obvs can't combine tokens from multiple mints in one payment)
Check Out the new Breez SDK. It's essentially Lightning-as-a-Service in a plug&play way, while still being non-custodial.
Should be a perfect match for your use case.
hamstr.to
Well, that's what being self-sovereign means. If you can't run your own node, then, yes, you have to rely on third parties custodying your funds for you. Install WoS and be done with it.
I guess our point is that it's even too much of a hassle for the people willing to go the extra mile and run their own node.
Damn, another thing to sort out 😞
FWIW, #[4] has a zapper script for CLN
Actually not sure. I know I received Zaps in my wallet.. and I didn't concern myself too deeply with all the NIP-57 fuzz on Bitcoin Nostr..
need to check. probably not..
But yeah, it's generally a bit of a hassle, and too easy to just go for a custodial solution 😑
There are options to connect your non-custodial wallet / own node in Alby.
You can get an LNaddress from something like sats.pm which you can also self-host on an own domain.
snort.social has that feature
Essentially, the extension is a bit like a password vault to safely store your private key, and only load it up when you need it to sign.
Alby, as you probably know, is a browser extension. You can connect your LN wallet, called "Account" (multiple backends supported: LND, CLN, Lnbits, LNDhub etc etc) , and use the Alby extension to store your Nostr Private Key in that Account.
When you log in to Iris (or most other web clients, such as snort.social, hamstr.to, astral.ninja) there is the option "Log in with Extension" which will pop up Alby. [Kollider has a similar extension, but there you cant connect your own, non-custodial LN wallet]
Every Nostr event that required signing with the Priv key, such as Post, would pop up Alby extention promting you to approve, But you can also use auto-approve (It's called "Always trust this site" or somethign similar..)

Don't do it. Use #[2] on Desktop, and a native app on mobile (Amethyst on Android, Damus on iOS)
So far, Nostr feels mostly like a shoutbox (remember these, on the forums back in the day?). Little informative posts; mostly celebration and self-afffirmation how great Nostr is.
The signal is still on Twitter, for now..
And @alby needs to support multiple Nostr keys as well .
Was always weary about Tailscale/Zerotier and ever heard about Headscale. Thanks for the tip!
Anyone knows how to set up a Tailscale client such that it routes all traffic through the Headscale server **except** Tor? This needs split tunneling somehow.
Use case: home LND/CLN node in hybrid (clear net+Tor) mode, and all clear net traffic should be funneled through a remote VPS running headscale
https://astral.ninja doesn't display URL images. Didn't know a tiny things like that would annoy me that much 😀
I tried damus.io/web , but doesnt let you Follow users. ("Sorry not implemented").
Coral.social seems broken, keeps loading forever.
Will try astal.ninja and alphaama.com now. thanks for the tip
