Yeah so true.. I remember recently someone wanted to show me something on tiktok and it is completely unrecognizable to me now. Instagram is even worse. I honestly think more and more people are leaving those platforms and it’s mostly just bots now.
Yeah economic ideologies are moral laws so I hear ya. The Quran and Sunnah is all you need. The Austrian school of economics is the closest and there are no contradictions between it and Islamic finance.

When I come across Ads, I tend to shut my brain off, which is actually quite easy when you got ADHD. Every once in a while, I pay attention, for whatever reason, and some of the Ads I hear are straight up ridiculous.
There’s a business out there that requires you to pay for a subscription with them, and as a result, they will cancel other subscriptions for you that you don’t need.

If your main problem is immigration or rich billionaires, you have no idea who John Keynes is and how close his ideas where to Marxism, or even worse, you think socialism is the answer to all our problems, I think it’s pretty fair to say you need to plug out and self educate. Understanding how the world works is far more enlightening then following gossip. The ultimate goal is to find a solution.
I find it amusing when I hear someone ask “how many steps do you take?” They assume I have my phone with me every time I use my legs. How people don’t get creeped by that anyway baffles me, closed sourced app tracking your every movement? 😳

Yeah I don’t really pay attention to language much so I’m not an expert whatsoever but I do pay attention to inconvenience. There is obviously scientific expressions to distinguish but everyday casual conversation shouldn’t be so technical I think. Arabic and Somali have a single word to describe maternal aunt but imagine saying maternal aunt to a random person in a random conversation, I really want to try and avoid being pretentious as much as I can lol
The word “family” to me was always interesting because it’s ALWAYS contentious. You could use scientific definitions but everyday casual conversations don’t work like that. People will always say things like family is the most important thing, but that means different for everybody. Some will go as far as include the tribe, some aunts and uncles, some extended members etc. You also have the mother vs wife thing. Now that I’m thinking about it, Arabic and Somali languages have a way of distinguishing between them but English is just way too broad. Even in legal documents, you have the assumption that your family is your wife and children.

I’m wrestling with the idea if Bitcoin is actually waajib instead of just halaal. My reasoning being if fiat currency is riba which is very haram, and you are using it out of necessity, If you have the option to opt out with bitcoin, isn’t it then waajib?
Bitcoin becomes not waajib not on its own, but because staying away from Riba is.
