My Pi crashed this past weekend when the cpu spiked past 105%. Running LND, CLN, mempool, knots, electrum, and a few other apps. I now have any app I’m not using stopped, unless directly related to node running. It’s too bad really, but I may have to retire mine sooner than later as well. Will keep an eye out for sales on Start 9

I just recently learned that RO is pretty acidic so I bought this filter that should alkaline the water and attempt to add some minerals back into the water on its way to the faucet. I’ll post the link if you’re curios. I haven’t received the filter yet so can’t do any TDS or PH testing.

A little over a year ago now when I was orange pilled by ‘The Bitcoin Standard’ that’s exactly what I did, all my savings are in Bitcoin now, I’m all in.
It’s funny you should say that about taxes, I told my wife the other night that if it wasn’t for her and our child I probably wouldn’t pay any taxes at all. I’m so sick of supporting this government. But I can’t put my family at risk with the IRS cartel.
I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, how I can reasonably make it work.
There is nowhere near me that accepts bitcoin for anything. No services, groceries, clothing, nothing. I also don’t have access to Bullbitcoin or bill pay through Bitcoin Well, in America. The closest thing I have to it is Strike.
Strike lets you use your bitcoin balance to pay accounts linked through ACH. Problem is, they convert your BTC to fiat at the time of payment, charging you fee. You also will have to pay short term tax on any gains. My plan for now would be to use credit cards as much as possible, use the gained reward points to cover exchange fees, and just eat the taxes hoping they even out with any gains and losses eoy.
I’ll still need to use a bank account though to facilitate my direct deposit, and setup a weekly reoccurring purchase through Strike. If I use their direct deposit feature, they will charge me an exchange fee again. I will have to take advantage of their weekly reoccurring purchase to mitigate fees. It’s a ton of hoops to jump through but it will be worth it.
After some deliberation with a few pros in the space, I have bumped up channel minimum to 50k as I’ve learned that this will actually help the network more.

Yeah I’d like to get more people to run nodes, spin up lightning and get connected to a few channels that will only cost a couple hundred USD, and get them to be able to send and receive lightning payments. The most frustrating thing about lightning and unsuccessful payments after putting so much time and Sats into learning L2. But it looks like you get that, your software looks fantastic.

I thought this as well but again if it’s only 10k it’s not much of a risk to have to close in the first place, right? I’m still learning but I’ve noticed lots of connected nodes require locking up hundreds of thousands of sats. I just want to help the new nodes get connected.

Ok, right. I will look into Zues pay linked with my node. I think because I paired it with NWC through Alby, I must have lost some utilities because I don’t see any generate custom address. I’m US based and on iOS, I know sometimes that can make a difference too. Thanks for your help today.
Attempting to run a sovereign lightning node for zaps and Ocean mining payouts.
I did download Alby hub on my Umbrel, but I didn’t make an Alby account and link an email so I believe I’m still self reliant, except for the NWC connections through their “app connections”. Is that how that works?
Anyways, that helps link Damus for zap payouts, still using CoinOS for zap receives. Trying to figure out how to generate a custom lightning address without relying on 3rd party. Then I could get primal to work. Still using CoinOs at the moment, that’s where I received your 40 zap.
Hopefully that makes sense, very new to lightning and NWC.
