I’m fine with referring to trans men as “he” and trans women as “she,” especially if their proper names or appearances provide cues. I’m not happy with invented pronouns, because then I would have to keep a table in my head and remember to refer to it while I’m figuring out what to say in a conversation.

I don’t think #[3] is saying consumers always pay for the things they consume. He’s saying consumer goods always cost something to produce, so free glasses and tampons aren’t a possibility. The only choice is whether their consumers pay for them, or someone else does.

Good interview with #TylerCowen about #AI risks. While he expects AI to be disruptive, he does not believe that doomsayers have made their case. Climate change and COVID worriers put out mathematical models that could be discussed and evaluated, both theoretically and empirically. AI catastrophists don’t have models. Cowen also believes they have overestimated the value of intelligence.
