Interesting clip. But how are we going to control this or prevent anyone from doing it? The genie is out of the bottle. I personally think that we need to learn how to live with it, maybe do things like modify our own DNA to make us more intelligent. AI can help with this.
I don't see why a big tech ecosystem is as important anymore. Seems to me that tech like blockchain, AI , biotech etc. are becoming more opensource and global. Will proprietary/geography based tech continue to be as important in the future?

Are you saying that they should ignore the laws, and terms of service?
Back in January, Twitter blocked content in India at Modi's request. More than just blocking links, certain tweets themselves were blocked:

In March, Twitter blocked a bunch of accounts in India, widening the censorship:

Guardian reported on it last week:
"Twitter agreed to block more than 120 accounts, including the Canadian politician Jagmeet Singh, the Canadian poet Rupi Kaur, several journalists and an Indian MP. Twitter also blocked the handle of the BBC’s Punjabi bureau."
In 2022, Musk said that Tesla looked into opening facilities in India but it as conditional on being able to sell and service cars in India (which makes sense). Given that it's an economically growing country of 1.4 billion people, it's a long-term important market to sell to. India might never be a profit center for Twitter, but it could certainly be a profit center for Tesla.
Yesterday, Elon Musk followed Modi on Twitter.
"Elon Musk has started to follow Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, on Twitter. The tech billionaire's action has generated a lot of discussion on social media, with many people guessing about what it might signal for the future of Tesla in India."
"Free speech absolutism" goes about as far as business interests do. Any centralized platform is corruptible, controllable.

Very soulful. Only 2 chords for the whole song. Less is more
Would anyone be kind enough to send me an invite code for bluesky? I just discovered the web/desktop client, and I would like to do some testing. Thanks
Who forces you to get any of these things if you don't want them? You are comparing apples and oranges. Comparison makes no sense.
The truth each one has advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I have found freedom of choice to be good.
There are many different approaches. Personally, I have found the one on deso to be the easiest.

Do you think rightist propaganda is the the solution? Why not have an honest debate with facts?
Ethereum somewhat resembles medieval principalities, each having their own piece of paper as “money”. And it’s not like they are all based on some sound standard, but rather force plebs to use separate “pelts” — someone has beaver skins, someone has sable skins… — @notgeld on “1008 Blocks Later” Bitcoin-only podcast in Russian:

Can you explain how people are forced to use pelts? Seems to me it's a choice. Where as bitcoin doesn't have "pelts". This sounds like "half truth" fud to me. Why can't we have an honest debate instead of maxi propaganda?
My Bitcoin+Nostr article is on my website now (originally on Swan a few weeks ago). https://www.lynalden.com/open-networks/
Like many of my articles, it's also on Seeking Alpha now (normie finance).

Can someone explain to me how bitcoin is governed. I am a user. How do I vote? Seems to me an important part of decentralization. What am I missing?
Printing money and simultaneously raising interest rates. Seems to me like conflicting goals
I agree this is a big problem and will only get bigger. They now have to borrow/print money just to pay the interest. Not sustainable. But the rest of the world has other problems as well.
Remains to be seen. Would probably bring a lot of short term instability. Long run has a lot of advantages and disadvantages depending on where you reside and many other factors. People like to oversimplify.
In the long term. In the term they still need to pay back debt contracts in usd
