Are there actually long term solutions on the horizon to fix our dependence on having only on nsec? Any ways that at some point we can drop a potential old nsec and replace it by an backup key that automatically inherits the same connections etc.

It's crucial imo, we are building our network / wot based on this investing years and at some point decades into it.

It will become incredibly valuable to navigate the upcoming free, show me recommendations, opinions etc only from my network and so on.

But all it takes once we have build or p2p network state is one compromised hyped new app build by a coordinated bad actor to destroy all the trust by compromising the nsecs.

How well would it integrate in nostr to require payment before someone can reach me? Like: pay x sats to get an answer by y time. For famous people. Or just as spam protection.

In Spain, the government literally takes 50% of what I earn from my salary alone. If I add other taxes such as VAT, it takes practically 70% or more of what I earn.

With 50% of my salary, I could:

- Take out private health insurance that is much better than public coverage, which is a real disaster.

- Enroll my children in a top private school.

- Save for my retirement and not need a pension.

- Pay for private roads, if necessary. In Spain, the concept of private highways already exists and should be extended to all roads so that the state does not administer them, and now you will understand why.

- Take out private security insurance (if it existed).

And I assure you that I would have more than half of my money left over.

Why the hell do we need a state? It is totally inefficient. In exchange, they take more from me than it would cost me to replace all the services offered by the state, and even for quality services, I would still have half my money left over.

Nostr doesn't need another client.

Nostr needs a business model.

Developers build clients for free, people get free social media, but there's no economic incentive to keep the ecosystem healthy. This creates a fragile foundation where clients can disappear, relays can shut down, and the network depends on volunteer labor.

source address to receiving address, mail can and will get lost or arrive in a different order, and everyone keeps a table like “IP’s starting with 1.2 are here”

TCP fixes the fact that data can be lost by adding a sequence number to each message and waiting for a “I got it” message

if 2 comes before 1, you wait for and read 1 and only then read 2

if you send 1 but never get an answer you resend it

Security keys very much do have memory and the memory does keep the per website key.

Passkeys do not just allow "password-less" login, much more they all "username-less" login.

If the web site had to send the encrypted private key it would have to know at least the username to send the correct private key.
