i'm currrently poorer than that but hopefully this next year i will stack hard and by 2 years i will be cruisin in my van with the kitty snoozin in the back on my way to the Tatras or something.

i was basically out of work for the last 6 weeks, that was part of the reason it got so low. anyhows. stack harder. always gotta stack hardererer.

so i guess there needs to be an adapter to allow a TTY type app like SSH to batch between CRs and whatnot. yeah, i've been doing a lot of work with NWC lately and the way it solves the inbound routing problem is awesome.

So looking forward to tomorrow. Freezer will be stacked, cleaning essentials, no big things to travel for, and finally gonna get started on the new job. And tomorrow also #mochi the #catstr will start learning about the rest of the house.

I've lamented my lack of skills with UI programming, and acquiring typescript and react skills will also translate to being able to build nostr client apps. I've got in mind the idea of building a Linux, but also any electron and react native capable platform, to build a full gsuite replacement. Simplified, ie, only markdown and asciidoc, probably a simple spreadsheet and ledger, and chat and async messaging., built on top of nostr relays.

The need for collab tools that don't hand valuable private data to untrustworthy app providers couldn't be more acute these days.

also, it's not that i "want it to fail" i'm of the opinion it just is doomed from its inception.

why would you want to live an a completely artificial environment when there is perfectly good, natural environments out there. it's just dependent on us mastering traveling to them. holography hints at the idea that there can be an instantaneous transit of a waveform from one location to another, and that the configuration of the whole system can be discovered by being able to actually measure the waveforms in a tiny part of space.

stuck down here, without that knowledge, all we get is progressively delayed beams of light emanating from far distant space. most of the light is from so far away, that nothing beyond a few light years is anywhere near where we see it, at this exact moment in time.

i think that without the retarding influence of the ruling class demanding virgin sacrifice and rape and human flesh for the last 6000 years we might have already got there, but all these stupid people believe the official narrative and don't even investigate it, people with the capacity to, but whose minds have been stunted by brainwashing. the orthodox models are wrong, and every step towards uncovering the correct model tends to be impeded deliberately. they want limited energy. they want limited transport. they can't suck the life out of us if we are infinity distance from them, which would be what anyone would prefer if they believed it were possible.

it is possible.

and i don't care about their stupid mars homo fantasy. stupid does stupid shit, that won't work, based on flawed models that are a mismatch with reality.

it's not wanting them to fail, it's KNOWING they will fail, and this is all just theatre about them telling us this story that they are superior and we are just fodder for their grandiose fantasies.

the state of astrophysics and biology is so so awful they don't even concern themselves with the problem of blocking radiation from the sun. the real main reason earth has life on it is that magnetic field. almost everything else would arise because of the protection of DNA from being scrambled. even the changing of the atmosphere to a composition like we have now, entirely depends on algae and other tiny plants growing in water. doesn't need to be a lot of water to start with, but sunshine, radiation shielding and water. that's it.

there is not very much water on mars. it doesn't have a geomagnetic dynamo, because it's not big enough, it has an induced field but life could not be surviving on the surface, it would have to be at least several feet under the soil, it's too cold because there is not enough atmosphere to form the electrical circuit that drives precipitation, and the simple fact that CO2 is the main component of the polar ice tells you the planet is just plain baked by x and gamma rays and UV and there is probably life especially underground near volcanic vents where there is more heat and sources of energy.

it's not just because of the heat. if heat was the only factor, mars would be covered in plants. it's not so cold it couldn't have plants. the plants would just lose genetic integrity. there is only one organism i know of that has a shield on it that could survive being outside of the protective atmosphere, that's fungal spores, many of them have very dense high carbon shells on them that block radiation enough to allow the DNA inside to survive. macroscopic forms that can survive constant ionizing radiation have very few parameters where they can absorb other forms of energy at the same time as blocking those damaging energies.

as well as all this, the heat is a factor. earth is just at a level where it spends around 20% of the time not frozen over. it's one of the most frustrating things about the gLoBaL wArMiNg bullshit that actually, the biggest danger is that it gets too cold. it was almost too cold 10000 years ago. the geological record and ice cores show that the planet has been mostly a popsicle for much of its existence. carbon dioxide actually helps a lot, as does water vapor and methane, to retain enough heat during winter that everything doesn't ice over. in actual fact, human population and matching increased CO2 and methane output would dramatically increase the fertility of the planet.

i hate my father, he always taunted me like this, always acted like i was useless and stupid. no, i had a bad teacher. fuck that man.

...forgive me if I forgot anyone 🙏🫂🎨

mine just moved house, to an awesome old house 40-50 year old house. hanging on the wall in my bedroom.

i was nervous about how i had packed it up but no damage occurred. i want to get a frame on it so such a move isn't worrying me i'll put a ding in it.

i personally just think that there is plenty of earth-like planets out there in much earlier stages than ours and by the time we can travel efficiently to mars we can equally just go to those places.

i think that we don't leave the planet at all until we figure out gravity, and when we figure out gravity, we figure out wormholes and distance becomes irrelevant.

i think, in fact, that "we" effectively already have figured this out but these people went off and "prepared a place in heaven" for us.

in the near future only programmers will be able to run experimental software. that'll put a ding in the "muh adoption" circus.

it also hints towards the fact that sooner or later, you won't be able to run whatever on android like you can now, without knowing how to use the SDKs.

my new house is so old it doesn't have any earth circuit in the electricity. kinda freaks me out a bit because there is some voltage leak into the earth pins of the multi-adaptors. feels like typical 12V leak from a computer.

i may have to do an elimination test to find out which device has an earth leak. probably need to dust out my PC, at least, that's a common cause of a ground fault like that.

the other thing is, ugh, i don't like it one bit, but replacing the wires is a huge pain. i'm going to ask the owner if i can get a hole drilled in the wall and put a single wire cable through and find some old rebar and sand it so it's got good contact and run the wire down to a point buried in the garden. it will be nice anyway to have an earth that i know is fully functional in my room so i can pin my conductive sheet and foot mat to it, as well as earthing my gear. the PC does actually have an earth circuit in it, and it's supposed to earth the whole case, it passes through the motherboard to the case and connects up to the PSU. sorta reminds me, that the case is not fully closed up.

ugh. no earth. lol. this is dodgy.

they certainly didn't have devices like these back when they made this house that's for sure. and the socket is just two holes in a plastic panel. i think this is the first time i've been in a building this old in europe. it's about 40-50 years old.

maybe i should do better than that and actually pay an electrician to put earth and new sockets into all the place, i'll ask the owner about this when he visits next. he wants some new wiring done anyway, so we could combine it and at least get earth into the upper floor anyway. not so important downstairs, although it seems kinda sketch to me to not have earth on washing machines and hot water systems.

From the New Yorker magazine, 1995:

and how resonant to the two lines from the WEF

almost like they had some way to plan this for a long time forward, a long time ago. strange. 🤔 almost like maybe there is someone behind the scenes who has some science that isn't accepted by the mainstream but somehow the elites know about it, and this kind of prediction was made, which is remarkably close to the reality already.

i just looked up the pole shift catastrophe theory on wikipedia and the newest shit they bother to show is like 1958.

like, lol. haha. very funny. probably because there has been a growing number of data points building up in the last 30 years pointing to a geomagnetic disaster cycle driven by a thing that only really has become starting to be identified, an oscillating current riding out on plasma thrown out by the stars in the galaxy, that resembles a spiral shape, flipping 360 degrees every rotation of the galaxy (about 24000 year cycle).

the scenario of earth's magnetic field destabilising and moving as far south as the northerrn parts of USA is entirely possible, and it is already part way into canada. the trend of all recorded measurements of the magnetic north pole show that there has been a near exponential acceleration of its rate of movement since the time of the Carrington Event. a decade ago i remember reading stories about how it was screwing up north american airports because of the pole drifting towards them (making their landing strips substantially out of alignment with the compass reading).

i mean, uh. yeah, at this point i'm deciding that when it comes to recent research, the decisions about what material to even mention is clearly not coming from people who give a shit about scientific rigor. i mean, i literally was just reading some shit talking about 1.2 million years ago there being humans. uh. please. there was only apes 1.2 million years ago ffs. where the fuck does this bullshit come from? humans have only existed for about 300,000 years. ah, homo sapiens, yes. based on carbon dating of the oldest bones.

lol, carbon dating.

that's another thing. carbon dating is based on the assumption of a roughly uniform emission of material from the sun over time. but if the emissions were much more non-uniform, and that seems reasonable since solar flares cause big dumps of material, that they probably have totally calibrated it wrong, and not only that, the levels of C14 you find in any given sample is entirely related to whether a big dump of it came from the sun within a few hundred years of when the artifact was buried into anoxic conditions. thus, the estimation of age based on this could be wildly inaccurate after a really big flare.

superflares and micronovas are starting to be found all across the sky with Webb looking out and seeing a hell of a lot more than Hubble ever did. it turns out that in fact sometimes stars dump a shitload of material and don't wink out.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micronova

they at least do mention this one but see it's only in the last 3 years that this has even been discovered. stars that blow up but don't totally blow up. just so happens that at least one recently spotted is just ahead of us by less than 50 light years in the direction of rotation of the milky way. very likely more and more of them are going to be spotted and if they do appear in closer proximity to us, and they can probably be quite brief, like at most several weeks visible and then most of the gas and plasma has spread out such that you don't see anything anymore.

anyhow. there's just too many data points on my radar about this and not just astronomy, also a load of old stories that describe things happening to the sun, which date to around 12000 years ago, where people were killed by an "evil sun" and later there is stories about "fiery dragons lighting the ground on fire as it passed". yeah, of course there is no dragon, but there sure as hell is such thing as a rock of several meters diameter or more at a low apprroach passing through and not actually hitting the earth, and as a consequence maybe it explodes from the friction heating.

stars throwing out a shit-ton of material sure would explain it, in the aftermath after it cools and aggregates. and the micronova theories tend to involve magnetic field interactions.

pssh. wikipedia lol.

yeah, simple anecdote: there was a snap frozen wooly mammoth found in siberia in the mid 20th century, i forget the exact date. it was so perfectly frozen that it was possible to cook and eat it. this could only have happened if ice at -150 or so fell on top of it, and it had all the marks of being crushed, as well. what in the hell would put an iceberg on top of a mammoth? oh yeah, massive tsunami wave caused by *dun dun dun* a crustal slip. it was far inland. they found it had stuff in its guts that resembled tropical climate plants.

haha anyway. that's the other thing. a LOT of this research is being done by people in russia, china, bulgaria, romania, and so on. the scientists in the west are so deluded by the orthodoxy they don't even think of questions to ask outside of the expected answer.

nah, i'm far from the tourists out here. at most a few 4wd tour cars driving around. my taxi driver told me (madeira native all his 30 something years) had never even been to this place. some nice waterfalls along the road around here, and great place to live for the view and altitude but certainly not a tourist attraction.

i am on a mobile network connection at the moment

22mbit down, 8mbit up lol

my fibre connection in boaventura was 500/100

seems to perform ok but ugh. i hope we will have fibre here soon.

i definitely won't be downloading any LLM models until then :)

yeah, i think that open communication is going to be a key to our survival going forward. europe is going straight down the toilet, and usa is kinda sorta almost opening up but the only way we get this to happen is by building the tools and once they are polished enough and enough people adopt the tech because of shit like OSA in the UK and the shit in the EU, they WILL adopt it because it's built to evade their control. all the rest of the "open social" networks have single points of failure. nostr is a true web, and will be more of an archaepelago, which is a more failure resistant network shape.

considering that there is good reason to believe that there is a magnetic reversal triggered solar driven catastrophe coming in the next 20-30 years, if the ruling class stops this information and the research and experiments in building to prepare for it, basically we could see another

https://www.npr.org/sections/krulwich/2012/10/22/163397584/how-human-beings-almost-vanished-from-earth-in-70-000-b-c

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youngest_Toba_eruption#Toba_catastrophe_theory

they think it was just an eruption causing a massive glaciation but i'm pretty sure it was closer to 72000 years ago and it was initiated by a magnetic pole flip. estimates of the ancestry of the modern human genome suggest that at one time in the past it was in the range of 1-5000 individuals.

lightning does strike twice but you never know when or where. ignoring the evidence of a cyclic global catastrophe and just carrying on as though nothing is happening is a sure way to get to another near extinction. there was a catastrophe 6000 years ago that is recorded in the rocks near the Tianchi volcano in china, and the event of 12000 years ago kicked off a minor ice age called the Younger Dryas

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Younger_Dryas_impact_hypothesis

again, one was volcano, another, another volcano, and another, talking about meteor impacts. these things have a remarkable regularity that points to the 6000 year 90 degree rotation of a massive magnetic field structure created by the galaxy, which rotates every ~24000 years (the field, i don't know if it's the rotation, but i do know that this coincides exactly with the cycle of precession of the equinoxes, which does a full 360 in the same period - we are currently at the end of the position of pisces and moving into aquarius now).

if the field change triggers seismic and volcanic activity on the planet it probably also triggers crazy stuff in stars as well, and if that triggers a massive flare... well... firstly, only people in caves will survive, as outside above ground everything is nuked with X-rays within 8 minutes of it happening, and then after that, the amount of energy that passes into the earth causes the magma under the crust to lose traction and the new magnetic alignment induces a 90 degree change that leads to the mother of global tsunamis, of which only a handfull of places on the planet are high enough up to not be inundated.

so, yeah, as i see it, this kind of information is available on the mainstream social media but it may come soon where it's only propagating underground on a protocol like nostr, where people can run their own nodes and surveillance against this is extremely expensive.

also, not sure if you have been paying attention but in the last two years there has been a LOT of major outages of networks and servers, and no coincidence at the same time there was major solar flares observed and auroras photographed. may 2024 was big, then again in october, and another one in i think it was march or april, been quiet for now but in a month or two it's set to tick up again.

it is also highly correlated to violence and war and insanity, as well as affecting the weather and triggering catastrophic natural disasters. the earth's magnetic field is moving very fast now, north magnetic pole is tracking fast through canada and maybe, if the trend of the last 400 years is an indicator, it could move all the way down to the gulf of mexico, at which point the tension between the crust and the magma, and the amount of energy coming down with the field opening right facing the sun... i mean, do the math. seismic activity has been definitively correlated to solar flaring activity and coronal holes especially (which cause a strong solar wind) and magnetic poles do not deflect this energy, plasma and high energy particles. they funnel it down to the ground. i mean, idk how to explain the epic magnitude of such an event. lightning strikes like the ones on jupiter, same size but here. campi flegri goes off, and that one in greece, and throw in etna and the one on iceland and the ones in south america and china. lol. yeah, nah.

so yeah, probably not only is it an important conduit of communication of the information about what is going on, nostr's architecture means it will remain functional even while half the internet goes dark. this is gonna be very important.

yeah, i think that open communication is going to be a key to our survival going forward. europe is going straight down the toilet, and usa is kinda sorta almost opening up but the only way we get this to happen is by building the tools and once they are polished enough and enough people adopt the tech because of shit like OSA in the UK and the shit in the EU, they WILL adopt it because it's built to evade their control. all the rest of the "open social" networks have single points of failure. nostr is a true web, and will be more of an archaepelago, which is a more failure resistant network shape.

considering that there is good reason to believe that there is a magnetic reversal triggered solar driven catastrophe coming in the next 20-30 years, if the ruling class stops this information and the research and experiments in building to prepare for it, basically we could see another

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youngest_Toba_eruption#Toba_catastrophe_theory

they think it was just an eruption causing a massive glaciation but i'm pretty sure it was closer to 72000 years ago and it was initiated by a magnetic pole flip. estimates of the ancestry of the modern human genome suggest that at one time in the past it was in the range of 1-5000 individuals.

lightning does strike twice but you never know when or where. ignoring the evidence of a cyclic global catastrophe and just carrying on as though nothing is happening is a sure way to get to another near extinction. there was a catastrophe 6000 years ago that is recorded in the rocks near the Tianchi volcano in china, and the event of 12000 years ago kicked off a minor ice age called the Younger Dryas

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Younger_Dryas_impact_hypothesis

again, one was volcano, another, another volcano, and another, talking about meteor impacts. these things have a remarkable regularity that points to the 6000 year 90 degree rotation of a massive magnetic field structure created by the galaxy, which rotates every ~24000 years (the field, i don't know if it's the rotation, but i do know that this coincides exactly with the cycle of precession of the equinoxes, which does a full 360 in the same period - we are currently at the end of the position of pisces and moving into aquarius now).

if the field change triggers seismic and volcanic activity on the planet it probably also triggers crazy stuff in stars as well, and if that triggers a massive flare... well... firstly, only people in caves will survive, as outside above ground everything is nuked with X-rays within 8 minutes of it happening, and then after that, the amount of energy that passes into the earth causes the magma under the crust to lose traction and the new magnetic alignment induces a 90 degree change that leads to the mother of global tsunamis, of which only a handfull of places on the planet are high enough up to not be inundated.

so, yeah, as i see it, this kind of information is available on the mainstream social media but it may come soon where it's only propagating underground on a protocol like nostr, where people can run their own nodes and surveillance against this is extremely expensive.

anyhow, regardless of all these robots, i don't think it's a viable survival strategy to put all your eggs in the smart machines basket. you should check out the storyline of the game Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for one example of how things can play out. i kinda think it will be a blessing to get a reset. the control grid will be gone. maybe i have to chop wood and forge axe heads and gather rocks to build my house, but at least i won't be living under the cloud of endless threats from government and ruling class bullshit.

i wouldn't normally post facebook but this was an epic lightning strike caught on a police dashcam, so, yeah, click it. they let you see the video too. (yes, tracking tags were removed).

lol. that famous quote from einstein springs to mind. but there is other very likely threats that will put us right back to the stone age. iron age if we are prepared a little. steam age if we prepared a lot. and most people washed away and/or covered in mud. or possibly also, lit on fire by the sun, or maybe exploded by a mega lightning strike. speaking of which, in south carolina yesterday:

yeah, they just need to not be robbed of most of the fruits of their labors by monetary debasement and taxation.

i believe Daniel is in fact a christian, and this church of environmentalism and government is actually the synagogue of satan. Samuel states that God told him that a king would destroy the culture of the Jews. and after samuel, it's just non stop stories about prophets and judgements against israel and punishments. shouldn't be a surprise, they kept on with the government, and that is idolatry in itself, and the very notion...

well that's where it gets sticky because catholics believe in the legitimacy of the pope being "God's Representative" when it clearly states all through the bible that if he isn't talking directly to you, you aren't praying enough, or properly.

Lol. Just go read the tech specs of a solar cell. Average lifespan times average power output. Other read about how much energy it takes to grow pv voltaic crystals.

I don't think any person with competence in physics would disagree that if you don't get more energy than it costs to make the device, it's just a jumped up, unreliable and light battery.

The energy required to forge the enormous steel and fibreglass blades of wind generators, and the magnets and tower, are also very energy intensive, and the blades, being mostly polyester and glass fiber, cannot be recycled. Plastic and aluminium both take huge amounts of energy to produce, or in the case of plastic, it's made from. Dun dun dun... Oil.

i hate expressive programming. is there *really* a need for complex iterator syntax when you can just use for loops? i mean, Go's for syntax is incredibly flexible, range loops over slices and maps, simple zero to X loops are just "for x := range X" you can also do regular C style "for initializer(); test(); iterate()" and badger uses a syntax like this with functions that sit in those 3 spots. and objects. ugh. really, give me structural typing over objects any day. and 5 billion different fancy operators when two or three flexible constructs are easier for slicing up arrays? and work queues are much easier to do with channels and goroutines and it's pretty efficient at maxing the CPU load for throughput, though i do sometimes wish i could reach for kernel threads specifically for throughput.

scaffolding and starting writing tests and translating code from other languages, and writing tedious and simple algorithms that are well established, especially on a specific data type are the things i mostly do with a coding agent. i will probably use it a lot to scatch together the beginnings of UI designs as well.

idk even where my node is, i just rent it from alby. occasionally there is issues like in recent days but i'm just chalking it up to the space weather causing general internet congestion and glitches, we've had quite a few M class flares and a coronal hole just blew past. ooh, and it's time for the news too.

i don't think anyone should give them any air time when in london you can have your mobile swiped right out of your hand by dudes in black riding motorcycles. where rape gets off with a tap on the wrist while they are putting people in jail for mean tweets, and daring to publish video of actual violence at protests and criminal activity.

anyone who is still there should do everything they can to get to USA or europe or anywhere else. shit is gonna get even worse yet.

it's alcohol and bitter volatiles. it tastes bad when it gets sprayed near your mouth.

the smell is ok but you don't eat perfume for a reason.

if it's ephemeral, it should not be cached. at all. if there is nobody to receive it, it goes to /dev/null

use a regular, replaceable or parameterized replaceable if you want it to be cached. put an expiration on it, or update it frequently, as in replaceable.

don't mix up the use cases by making the middle man do cache duty when there is a cache method existing already in the protocol. if your application is using ephemerals but you expect to need this, you should consider switching the events to replaceable or addressable events, and putting expiration timestamp tags on them. otherwise what happens when your realtime collab app gets confused when it drops the subscription and then gets 10 seconds of past events loaded into it.

distil the problem down to see what i'm talking about

why is p2p better? no middleman. why is it worse? it requires concurrent connection

why is relay better? asynchrony and getting around routing problems caused by the limitations of the IPv4 and NAT issue. and the clear and obvious constant obstruction against p2p connections that is deliberately being done to keep these clouds as middlemen in everything. for the benefit of the gigacorps and their spook friends.

relay is the solution that you have to make. rendezvous, specifically, that's why it's pretty much a fixture in every p2p system, and the usual achilles heel. consider tor and the directory servers. IPFS and the need for rendezvous service for nodes that have full inbound routing, for those that don't.

what is that they are adding to the p2p to make it work? a relay doing rendezvous.

NWC protocol hides the messages inside encrypted content anyway, and if you take the same approach for any rendezvous use case you see, the more busy this protocol is, the more silly it would be to keep a back-queue of events and send them when? the client is not going to *expect* to have ephemeral events that are older than like 2 seconds. this is gonna cause broken problems in the clients using relays as rendezvous as well.

yep, it's a mess, and the people funding this mess don't care, because they are just funneling donations through and taking a cut. the product is for them, not the users, and certainly not for the business people trying to talk to their customers.

and my point is that if you base your design decisions on trustlessness with a relay based protocol you are gonna have a bad time.

i lean heavily towards the idea of finding ways to get more people being the middle man in their conversations. if 10% of nostr users are running a relay that's a lot better than being stuck with the problems of a trustless p2p architeture

one of the benefits of compulsory military service

i learned it because of having been assaulted so many times in my teens and 20s.
