The panels are close enough in spec that I don't think it's making much of a difference. They wired together in pairs and I've seen them produce close to their maximum potential in ideal conditions, just over 1200w.
If you're getting the S9 only to run off the solar power it might not be worth it. It might never make the sats back you spent on it in any realistic timeframe. However, once you have an S9 you'll probably find other ways to use it for heat when the sun isn't shining.
Off grid hashing, now with double the hashrate!

I changed the angle of the solar panels to see if I could get more power.

Plugged in two of the three hashboards on the m29 miner (wmm20 hashboards in s9 enclosure) instead of just one which all in draws over 1200w

With the panels angled more towards the sky, the system was able to produce almost 1100w which is a couple hundred watts better than I was getting before at the lower angle.

The batteries were taking a beating today getting down below 25v but when I unplugged the miner the voltage was able to get back up above 27v before there wasn't enough light to charge anymore.

When there aren't guests staying at the yurt, the solar power system is hashing and helping to evaporate the liquids in the composting toilet collection tank. The compost system had the option for electric heaters to evaporate liquids. No need for electric heaters when one has a Bitcoin miner. Even better if it can run off the sun!

I haven't had a chance to check out nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg yet but everything I see them putting out seems awesome. Gotta get my shit together and listen to some tunes #v4v

While the cannabis isn't large enough for the rabbits to eat yet, they still get fed any weeds and prunings from around the homestead turning waste into meat. These sassafras saplings were the byproduct of harvesting the root to be dried in the Bitcoin mining dehydrator.

First couple v4v packages going out to the plebs! All done exclusively through nostr!!

Thanks for the support and I hope lots of value arrives out the special delivery.

Sassafras root now processing in the Bitcoin mining dehydrator. Such a wonderful aroma is filling the house.

Raspberry leaf is done and added to the shelf in the Apothecary. Accruing quite the selection!

Vegetable starts are transplanted to the garden beds

Got cabbage, broccoli, cucumber, eggplant, tomato, peppers for now. Looking forward to lots of sauerkraut, pickles, and ferments. And most of all, fresh salsa!

I made some awesome sassafras pear cider last fall. Still got some pears in the freezer so I should be able to make another batch.

Last fall I split horse radish, comfrey, rhubarb, and hazelnut along with cup plant in the spring. Then, transplanted it amongst the fruit trees in the silvopasture where we graze our sheep.

So far, good success with only a few dead plants. The summer heat might cause some casualties as these plants will not be watered. Plus the potential of a rough sheep here or there. All in all, I'm feeling confident many will make it through.
Horseradish

Comfrey

Cup plant

Rhubarb

All this propagation was from plants in the food forest. In a few years all these plants can be split again further filling out niches in the rows of perennials in the silvopasture. Low time preference abundance.

Katahdin hair sheep heading to ideal pasture

Pasture like this is what I'm trying to achieve all across the homestead. Good mix of legumes and grass with other plants for diversity. Not too tall, stemmy or seedy. Just heaps of exactly what the sheep love to eat. This paddock also has built in shade and water in the form of a spring. The will be here for 3 days or so.

Katahdin hair sheep heading this way then off into the woods.

While the pasture isn't as lush where the sheep are headed, it has much more diversity in the forage. I think a diverse diet leads to more resilient (and flavorful) sheep. When reading Sepp Holzer, he recommends giving animals access to poisonus plants to allow them to self medicate. I've noticed sheep eating milkweed and elderberry on occasion which are supposed to be poisonous. Permaculture principals: value diversity, value marginal come to mind.
This lane of paddocks is also nice because each paddock has shade and access to flowing spring water. They should make it here by the weekend.

Pawpaw trees flowering

Pawpaw is said to be the tropical fruit of the midwest and many are growing wild on the homestead. The fruit is soft and has a very short window of peak ripeness. The ones here taste anywhere from reminiscent of mango to pure sugar sweet.

Looking forward to getting few buckets of this unique treat later this year and trying out pawpaw sheep milk ice cream.

Welcome to the hoooood!
When you make maple syrup the old fashioned way, you need wood to boil the sap. I started today after school. 6-7 of these loads is a cord of wood. I need 14 cord for syrup, 6 for house, 4 for shop. That's more thant 150 trailers. Proof of work. If your kids enjoy the syrup, show them this pic where it all begins.

I never have time to get started stacking wood this early so instead I try to find ways to need less.
My rocket mass heater handles well over 900sqft with less than 2 cords of mediocre wood in zone 5b.
