This bring a smile to my face as well, those little piggies are totally precious

That was the easiest online order I've ever placed. And I'm counting Amazon, because half the time I forget my own pw and have to reset it.
This coffee order took 2 taps and copy pasting my mailing address. This is a powerful protocol.
At this point I have to agree with #[2], I see the inevitability of Bitcoin and payment integrated apps eating everything else.
PS: Those sats we're exclusively from Fold card rewards - take that fiat cc fees and reward structures!

This is beautiful. Is it lined? Is this a riparian margin or a flow-through?

I'll take that offer, never had hollerroast.
In the Freedom Exchange Network we take the decay for granted, we assume things elsewhere are going poorly, but we don't fixate in it - we are a community of builders and growers.
No time like build, right #[2] ? When times get tough, buy coffee beans, build gardens, start a business, solve problems.

Swinging an axe like a pickaxe feels so dangerous. Though I mostly work without shoes on, so the stakes are a little higher

What is the groundcover analog for cats? Scrating posts? Keeping the house tidy?
We have 5 cats 5 kittens in 700sq ft
He probably got sloshed because there wasn't enough biodiversity. Looks to me like he passed out glaring at that clump of grass.
My recommendation: plant at least 5 new species of perennial this week to bolster his spirits. I have heard good things about chocolate mint and ladies mantel.
Best of luck, I do not envy your predicament.

Headed to work with my crew.
Could I have gotten a truck with a bigger cab? Yes. Would it have had a 12 foot bed? Not sure. Would it have been a diesel truck with no computer, probably not. Would it have cost $3500? I can't imagine.
Forced cuddles are the best cuddles.

Blended ginger with skin on, put in water, add sugar. It's very easy.
Usually I have the primary in an airtight container and burp it several times a day.
YOU NEED GOOD HEAD SPACE ginger gets super excited when it ferments and it will totally bubble over uncontrollably for the first few days / week
A gallon jug with 3 quarts of liquid 1 quart air is a good approach.
Last one we had we were drinking off for about 6 months. Left in the primary (gallon jug) that one we didn't use sugar, it was a great mixer.
The plants look very healthy, I wouldn't worry about the fungus, the fruiting body of something that has been present in that soil for a while
It's definitely a labor of love, not sure how many I'll make to sell, so far we're like 10 hours in.
Makes for a sweet present for family and friends, but I gotta really like you to sand that much wood glue and cut that many identical pieces of wood... 😅

May you never go without snacks again!
We have been meaning to do this for ages, what prep work did you do? Seasonings? What temp did you cook, in what, for how long? I must unlock the secrets to making this!
Doesn't look like critical mass for a hot compost (needs cubic yard)
In time things should decompose well, some things listed are slower to break down due to high fiber content
Started a ginger ferment today. 1200g ginger 600g sugar, 2 gallons of water.
Once the initial ferment calms down we will be transferring to flip tops, then using the dregs to start other ferments (our favorite right now is using Santa Cruz brand Strawberry Lemonade and a couple ounces of elderberry syrup!

I get weird looks from 'ol timers' in our area when I tell them "we have 14 bunnies, trying to get up to about 100" they ask "do you butcher them?" And I reply "I'm using them for fertilizer, but I might eventually..."
Look, it's good fertility, they are cute, and they bring me joy.
Course, they get weird looks from me when they ask if I keep them in hanging cages and I tell them I would never abuse an animal like that- I keep them on the ground, like a real living being 😲 what a concept

Been careful not to over extend to do so, we got 12 100w panels used from a contractor who replaces panels on commercial arrays. These babies are 5 years old, and should serve us well for many years to come 😄

Spent this afternoon unloading plants and soil salvaged from an urban landscaping job. Mostly got ladies mantel (highly medicinal incl women's health) and daylily (all parts of plant edible and tasty... Leaves and tubers taste like peas, flowers are peppery). Both perennial in zone 4.
I got paid to load and unload the materials, and saved the customer the dump fee, so we both won big here.
Used salvaged cardboard as mulch, spread soil and in an hour had a plan nursery for free (well actually I got paid 😄)
I maintain that landscaping is one of the most compatible jobs for the homesteader. I typically use yard waste (I call it yard garbage) to mulch beds, which results in many interesting volunteer plants. Note: I am primarily keeping perennial plants, so idgaf about 'weeds' survival of the fittest here +/-

Freedom Exchange is equivalent to: agora, free market, community exchange, alternative/parallel/counter economy... you get it.
Practically speaking, we coordinate and facilitate in-person meetups in our local area (on private property) for members of our private group to exchange as they see fit. We have a member onboarding process to avoid *"selling to the public"* Currently the bulk of trades are food & livestock as direct barter, or for silver/fiat/crypto (we traded bunnies for kimchi and beef tallow for moose meat last week). We also offer classes and kid activities to encourage family attendance and knowledge sharing. Last meetup we had an Easter Egg hunt where each kid got an egg with a silver dime and a copper round, which they then used to trade, next meetup will be an alternative livestock fodder class.
This is a template anyone can replicate in any location to build community and empower others to walk away from a crumbling economic system where possible, if times get tough, or even if they don't 😉
In time we will have an online marketplace (NOSTR app anyone?) to facilitate trading, and enable regional trade routes...
If ANYONE is interested in creating a local hub, please message myself or #[1] and we can give you more information, show you our template, perhaps do a phone/video call to convey the specific mission/vision as we want additional hubs to share the vision of the Freedom Exchange Movement.
