Building StartOS, a graphical operating system optimized for self-hosting.

Sounds like Bitcoin is in a crash loop. Check out the logs to see why. It's usually something corrupt in the DB. Depending on the error, there are different Actions your can run from the Actions menu to fix the problem. Check out any of our support channels for 1-1 assistance. https://start9.com/contact

Core and Knots necessarily have the same service ID in order to satisfy dependent services like lightning.

Knots is on the community registry, Core is on the primary registry.

Your updates tab shows both registries, so you must have just clicked the Knots one.

It's an unfortunate and temporary UX shortcoming of 0.3.5.1 and will be fixed in 0.3.6 when we expand the versioning system to support alternative implementations of the same services, like Knots and Core.

To switch back to Core, do the following:

1. In the System tab, click the "manage" header 5+ times to enable developer mode.

2. Go to the Start9 Registry in the Marketplace. Click Bitcoin Core. And click "Reinstall".

3. Optionally disable developer mode by clicking the manage heading another 5 times.

Cypherpunks write code.

Capitalists create products from code.

Crypto anarchists use products to defend themselves and their families against theft and tyranny.

Tradfi bros borrow money they didn't earn to acquire property they didn't develop - and like a fat, entitled leech, gorge on the economic value created by others.

We have very active support channels on Telegram and Matrix, but it sounds like Bitcoin is in a crash loop. Very likely the hurricane cuased a power outage which caused some data corruption. Inspect the logs to see what the error message is besides the one mentioned above. Depending on what the logs say will determine which Action you should run from the "Actions" menu. No need to reflash StartOS or reinstall Bitcoin...

Talking with their team about it today actually, no timeline yet

🚀 Announcing the offical release of Alby Hub nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm for StartOS!

FYI we just removed NWC from our marketplace because it is deprecated and being replaced by Alby Hub, which has NWC baked in. I do not think the nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm team will be maintaining NWC as a separate service going forward. They can confirm.

It would be very difficult on StartOS 0.3.5.x, but will be easy in StartOS 0.3.6.

Clearnet will be possible in 0.3.6, which is currently in Alpha testing and moving to beta next week. It will require using SSH and following a guide. In 0.4.0, clearnet functionality will be moved into the UI, no longer considered advanced.

We will move to 1.0 when StartOS is out of beta, expected next year, sometime after 0.4.0

We have an excellent support team in our Telegram channel who can try and help you identify the mistake.

Plug in a physical drive, click backup.

If you are trying to back up to a newwork folder and failing, 99% the problem is usually an invalid input, and it's usually the username.
