It's the ultimate outcome of modern collectivist government theories, whether they begin more communist in structure, or fascists. As power gets more and more centralized, all of the corporate monopolies (of which government is one) eventually begin to bond together and there's no difference between them.

He's not wrong on the first part, but tying them in nice strongly with the government will only increase the waste in spending.

An interesting thought though is that admissions and follow through like this can at least present citizens with stronger legal arguments against corpos that informed on their rights (assuming the already largely corrupt courts rule in accordance to the Constitution). This is why I think it makes sense for creators to build communities on Nostr. So when creators on YouTube invite viewers to "join the community" on Locals or Substack or whatever, we can point viewers to a community on Nostr and then they'll wind up with an npub that they can use on other Nostr apps too.
