On May 18, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz posted a thread on the Bitcoin Talk forum saying that he would pay 10,000 bitcoins to anyone that would order him 2 large pizzas or cook and deliver him 2 large pizzas.

Four days later, Jeremy Sturdivant decided to take him up on that offer. On May 22, 2010, Jeremy ordered Laszlo 2 large pizzas from Papa Johns and Laszlo sent Jeremy 10,000 bitcoins in return.

This wasn't the only time that Laszlo spent thousands of bitcoins buying pizza. Laszlo estimates that he spent 100,000 bitcoins on pizza in 2010.

How did Laszlo get all of those bitcoins? Well, Laszlo is also the man that invented GPU mining.

Laszlo is a legend, but we can't forget about Jeremy. He's equally important in this transaction.

The important part for LN is eliminating pinning vectors. The most important recent upgrades in this regard are the improvements to anchor outputs and transaction relay. It's hard to overstate how massive these improvements are for LN security.

Data carrier limits and OP_RETURN are irrelevant to lightning.

Mempool policy is important for lightning. It is not important for bitcoin. Lightning is not bitcoin. It is one way to send bitcoin.

Policy is not important for mining centralization. Lots of smart bitcoiners seem think it is. They are wrong.

It's time to refocus on what really matters. Right now, what really matters is self-sovereign mining.

Policy is a distraction. Bitcoin will be captured if we can't fix mining.

The #1 cause of homelessness is housing costs, 30% to 40% of homeless people, and property taxes are 20% - 35% of housing costs nationally.

Somehow, the government has never thought to study what % of homelessness is caused by property taxes.

So I did a little math.

150k property tax evictions annually.

Average 2.5 people displaced.

Conservatively, 12.5% of them fail to find other housing.

Around 50k homeless people annually directly attributed to property tax evictions. Which is around 10% of all homeless people.

Probably much higher since that is property tax evictions of owners only, renters who were evicted but could have afforded 30% lower rent are likely much higher.

Anyway, just me thinking out loud about potential arguments against statists. Focusing on trying to convert lefties these days since they are most unhappy with their government right now.
