I still don't know what OLAS is an acronym for, but I have finally discovered the instagram like NOSTR app that it refers to here:

Let me preface this with an "I do love nostr, but"

One of the greatest tricks the Devils ever played was to leave twitter and urge their followers to do the same and join their exclusively built echo chamber. So now they are the top of the bunch influencers here without much competition and if there is competition, they can decide if they even want to let their accounts grow by endorsing or not endorsing their posts. Add primal as the preferred on ramp which can virtually decide about users follower count, and it starts to look like the whole thing might just be centralized around a single source of funding, which is not jack. Many of those top of the line influencers are conveniently on primals autofollow list and board members at the source of funding at the same time.

If you look at really big youtubers, this is usually their modus operandi, get people to follow them into their own custom built echo chamber. Great way to spread their message without risking to be challenged by critical entities.

Am I paranoid, yes.

Are you too gullible? Probably also yes.

Nostr is less about a popularity contest and more about a no algorithm timeline and self sovereign ownership of your posts. Don’t want to see the popular posts, don’t go to those apps, use real nostr apps like nostr:npub1wyuh3scfgzqmxn709a2fzuemps389rxnk7nfgege6s847zze3tuqfl87ez or nostr:npub1n0stur7q092gyverzc2wfc00e8egkrdnnqq3alhv7p072u89m5es5mk6h0 that don’t run off of centralized servers.

I don’t use other social platforms. Facebook locked me out of my Meta business account and X has no real reach without advertising heavily #NostrOnly

I have that signer, I haven’t found a great use for it.

Amber works because your phone is always online

Hardware signing devices to hold your nsec, offline

It would have no use, a private key for Nostr needs is exactly like a private key for a lightning node. It has to be online all the time in order to sign notes. Otherwise you just have a dead, unusable account.

What you could do is put the private key on a secure enclave inside of a hardware wallet, but it would still need to be connected to a device that is always online in order to be functional.
