Oh wow! Did you have to custom build the hardware and software necessary to create the lightning invoices, and process the payment, or is there a company that's already making the system?
I love holiday food. When different family members come together and make their special recipes. The house always smells amazing, and then you just wallow in front of the fireplace after eating and drinking way too much! Best time of year!
Vending machines, like soda and snacks, should integrate lightning payments. It would be so cool if you could stop at a vending machine, and whip your phone out to make an instant lightning payment for a can of Coke. It could have a little screen that displays a QR code after you make your selection. You just scan the QR with your lightning wallet app, and pay the invoice. The machine then vends your selection upon notice that the invoice has been paid.
The whole process should be as fast or faster than the current NFC Apple Pay, or Samsung Pay, or Android Pay functionality that most vending machines already have. The technology to make this happen already exists. It's just a matter of vending machines installing the hardware to display the QR, and creating an admin software that ports the existing internet access, and provides the ability for the machine owner to specify their wallet address to receive the payments each day. I feel like the Breez SDK could help make this happen.
Yeah, I'm gonna have see it in operation for a significant amount of time without problems before I even consider it. But yeah, fuck the ElonChip. 😂
Maybe. I'm not certain on the time frame, so I'm just leaving a big window. I suspect we'll be at $250k maybe in September or October, but I'm just sure so I'm not making specific prediction at this point.
I think we'll be at $250k by the end of 2025.
I think Elon Musk is trying to do that with his Neurolink brain chip, but that isn't going well last I heard. There's no way I'd put an ElonChip in my brain. He'd probably pipe the worst shit in Twitter straight to the brain. No way.
And thank you! I really appreciate how fast you responded to my help requests, and addressed the minor issues I was having. I'm really happy with the node platform you provide, as it's now running flawlessly. Zaps via NWC are also blazing fast, with none of the transaction lag some other NWC wallets have. In a few weeks I'm going look into opening a second channel to megalithic to fortify my node and increase liquidity. It's really an exciting platform, and your customer support is amazing! Thank again for all you do!
I've been using the nostr:nprofile1qqsf07zg4hxyccnkdp07fppxmetpfzru3fg6mgzx3nk8r7af8qnjjygpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wd3skueqpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejsxj0y5x lightning node platform for several days now, and while there were a few bumps in the road during the initial setup, the good folks at Rizful provided excellent, prompt assistance, and got those minor issues resolved for me right away.
My cloud-based Lightning node is now chugging away, working perfectly. Rizful provides a custom Lightning address for each node, and NWC functionality for full integration with Nostr. If you're interested in running your own Lightning node, take a look at Rizful.com. It's a comprehensive Lightning node provider with great features, and low fees.
Yeah, it's not intuitive, especially for non-tech people. There are aspects that are more easily grasped by techies, but for those who aren't experienced with technology, and development, it's not a process that immediately makes sense. The onboarding process should definitely be made more accessible to all users.
People who reminisce about the good ol' days very often don't include all the horrible shit that happened back in the good ol' days. They prefer to look back with rose colored glasses, and maintain a curated memory of the past.
I prefer to zap smaller amounts on a more frequent basis. But as you said, all ways work! Go with whichever method suits you best.
I make monthly purchases, and while some goes to long-term savings, some also goes to vendors that accept bitcoin. I pay for a personal paid relay, access to nostr.wine's inbox relay, access to nostr.wine's filter relay, top-ups for nostr.wine's cellar relay, expenses related to my lightning node, and a monthly top-up of my zap fund. So, I'm contributing to Bitcoin's ecosystem while also directing sats to my cold wallet. I find it easier to manage by having a system, and just adhering to it. If you do, you'll cover your bases pretty much automatically.
Not sure about Damus because I'm allergic to Apple products, but I'm pretty sure Primal supports it on Android. I can't be sure because I can't remember how I signed in way back when I first installed it.
Apple doesn't have any good external signing options as far as I know. One of the Apple devs should consider building one, though not nostr:nprofile1qqsr9cvzwc652r4m83d86ykplrnm9dg5gwdvzzn8ameanlvut35wy3gpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3qamnwvaz7tmwdaehgu3wwa5kuegpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumt0wd68ytnsw43q3ttcfs because he's already testing the bounds of time with all the amazing stuff he's working on. There's only so many hours in the day!
Amber should be universal. It should be a standard feature for all nostr clients. It's so important to keep your nsec locked up seperate from the client apps, and Amber has proven to be the best, most effective, most reliable nsec locker and signing agent Amber for all!
I see that! That's fantastic! I think you've got total Nostr integration now. 🎉
Why would the government try to confiscate my coins in particular? I don't hold a fortune in my hot wallet. And I'm fully non-custodial with my keys secured behind strong encryption, and steel. So how would they even take my coins? And if somehow they did take my coins, it would suck, but it wouldn't be the end of the world. As I said, I don't keep a lot of money in my hot wallet.
Awesome. It'll be good to have this functionality.
I just tried searching with Brave by logging into my Kagi account rather than you the browser extension, and it worked just fine. Maybe try that?
Maybe try turning off Brave Shield. Brave puts all sorts of stuff between you and the URL you're trying to reach. It's one of the reasons I don't like using it.
