I think I've been nostregized. πŸ˜…

Yesterday we watched an interview with nostr:nprofile1qqs2gndun24r2utk5l20tscsdprw5zttvm0qk58w8xhl2ja2kmzt7jcpvemhxue69uhkv6tvw3jhytnwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0dec82c33x5ehsmt90q6ry7p5vd5xge3hx5mksupnwym857rpvaukk6m9dvmhqer8wa6hwepsxu6rjd35v34hj6rp89ensvnj096ns0mzwfhkzerrv9ehg0t5wf6k2qg7waehxw309ahx7um5wgkkgetk9emk2mrvdaexgetj9ehx2ap0qy08wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttsw43zuam9d3kx7unyv4ezumn9wshsxs66av and today we chatted with someone at Starbucks who mentioned having a new friend who does wine import and export.

My first internal reaction was, "Oh, we have a friend who does wine", very quickly followed by my realization that, No, I don't actually know Ben, I've interacted with a few of his posts here on Nostr, and gotten responses, but no, we are not actually friends πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£

I guess only getting about 3 hours of interrupted sleep didn't help my sense of reality either πŸ˜…

In my current state, I'd probably also tell normies that I have a soap friend, a leather friend, and a nutbutter friend 🀣🀣🀣

Was he buying beyond burger?

Yes, after hackers. My previous one was crunch. The current one is hal (not 2001).

Nostr is cool and everything, but until it can run Doom I cannot take it seriously.

I'm naturalized American. I call everybody else native American. My friends were confused at first.

Just as I don't announce that I listen to classical music, I most definitely not announce that I could listen to those sings you shared and even enjoy them in small doses. I like 8 bit music also in small doses (it gets repetitive and drives me crazy after a while) and these songs remind me of that.

Oh, Japan... from samurai to anime, you truly are in the dankest timeline.

NOSTR EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT ⚠️

Y'all ready for this?

Next up on the podcast: 3 STRAIGHT FLAT EARTH EPISODES 🀣πŸ”₯

(First of the 3 is purely focused on the history of NASA & the Moon, but it's necessary warmup context)

Total glober demolition is imminent.

Open your mind and buckle the fuck up, because your brain will be completely melted by the end of the third one, guaranteed.

Hang tight because they're going to take some time to produce; I'm going to be absolutely PACKING all three with bonus visual content, animations, historical clips, etc. to drive it all home. (Not sure of ETA but hopefully #139 will be out in the next few days to a week max.)

It's going to be worth it, friends, I promise. This will be the most insane 3-episode stretch of the podcast by far.

And one last bonus note: I'm not sure if you've heard, but nostr:nprofile1qqsx2wyjt6lmvc05rrvv05r5hm3w3t7h0pcpmkyswrpd4ymd2u09tscprpmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctvq9n8wumn8ghj7enfd36x2u3wdehhxarj9emkjmn99ah8qatzx9mr2atx095rgmrtv4ekcemc0p3kxmr88pnrq6r6v9axscthxae8xungwen8zatc0fknyentxc6xxdejdpc8xdp4dcc8vdflvfex7ctyvdshxapaw3e82egpr3mhxue69uhkummnw3ez6vp39e3x7mr59ehkyum9wfmx2usu2kae7 is about to launch VIDEO SUPPORT, allowing you to pull up the video version of the episode in the Fountain app while listening. These will be the PERFECT episodes for you to test out this new functionality, since they'll be filled with visuals πŸ‘€

GET HYPED. Going to pour my heart and soul into these, I know y'all are going to get a ton of value out of them πŸ”₯

You probably heard this before, but I still think it's funny: how do we know Earth is not flat? Because cats would've already knocked everything off.

I'll give it a try in a bit. I don't usually care for pop, but I don't hate it. Rap and hip hop I just can't stand. And before you call me an audiophile, I listen to punk rock which I don't think anybody would call high art -it's the same 4 chords packed in 2 minute songs- but I enjoy it a lot.

I tend to like older music (as in before I was born), but I give new things a try. When dubstep came out I thought it was interesting and creative. People my age were just disgusted by the "noise".

I'm nitpicking but I'd say "within the last 10 minutes" instead.

I can't remember the first time I heard about bitcoin, but it was probably pretty early on. Early enough that CPU mining was still a thing I believe. I didn't get any then or for the next 10 years...

Yes!

I searched on Brave for Israel September 19th and all it's showing me is October 7th. It's almost like the pager explosions never happened.

Do you realize how stupid this sounds? A country fighting a multifront war and instead of shooting Anna Frank on the spot, they waste time, energy, resources to transport her to a death camp, purposedly give her typhus, then they put her in a roller coaster crematorium.

The people in the camps died of hunger because the supply chains were destroyed during the war. They died of typhus because of the lice. There was no 6 gazillion or holocaust.

I feel most people on Nostr would be thrilled with living like an Amish... wait, that would mean no Nostr!

I feel most people on Nostr would be thrilled with living like a Mennonite.

Eh, I disagree with that word, ethymologically. It's not a phobia.

Just got an email that I've been cancelled from speaking at my birth city's bitcoin conference nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skueqpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqqg8u5rszaqca9ctvwwf75agqf0rq82dj5vthurymfh85pjpcpee2f5khyxl6, as well as fully banned from even showing up.

"Bitcoin is for everyone", as long as you're being a good goy and not sharing documentaries that will lead to people asking questions 🀫

Dude, have you not seen the shoes!? THE SHOES!

I was pro vaccines and for "science based" medicine. I barely took pills, though. Not very pro pharma.

Covid changed me (the pandemic reaction, not the disease). I'm against vaccines, against doctors, fully against pharma. My wife started looking at homeopathy and I said nothing, but I thought it was a waste of time and money. It works! Better than pharma, way better. I'm pleasantly surprised.

There's a YT channel of a homesteading family that owned camels. One of the kids had really bad allergies, but he could have camel milk. The channel name is Homesteady.
