Yesterday we managed to do some clean up from our garden bed project so hubs could mow and weed eat. We got some things planted and built a tomato alley. I also had to relocate some strawberries and tame our blackberry bush with a trellis. Man I wish we had planted that thing closer to the fence. I didn’t plant this garlic in the fall like I was supposed to. I planted it early spring. It was already shooting out then. Let’s see what happens.

hey Daniel, we have done a few of them and really enjoy the quality of meat we get. generally speaking, here is how things turn out, with a picture of some of the chops.

We feed an average of 3-4 lbs per pig per day of regular grain. The grass stays pretty fresh with a move every 7-10 days. Add to that a couple of extra chicken eggs every now and again. The pigs usually finish out around 200-225 lbs live weight in about 10-12 months. Our feed costs around $1 per pig per day (late 2022 numbers).

I would like to learn how to properly process a chicken. I have 3 hens that will soon be ready for process. Anyone in the Houston area willing to teach? There is a farm that does process for you but you need a minimum of 20 birds.

I will do that too if anyone else want to go that route.

I just finished installing this reclaimed white oak vanity for a client, the original saw mill marks are there if you look close. The design feature on the doors is my signature style and I’m definitely happy with how it turned out!
