Me, Myself & I
My #GitHub #PullRequest for adding the #Alpine #Docker image to the #Nostr #Relay #strfry was just merged!
#Dev #DevOps #NostrDev #DevNostr #AlpineLinux #Linux #CPP #CXX #Perl #FOSS #FLOSS #OpenSource #LibreSSL #LibreTLS #LMDB #Git
I would generally recommend explaining more, even if it might seem verbose in some cases. This way, one covers everyone, including those unfamiliar with how #Nostr works, yet.
If proposers just write it like a private note to themselves, it would be natural that this specific proposal would be ignored are very unpopular among clients & relays.
Agree. Needed to scratch my head a lot when trying to get through it. Very confusing & not even consistent.
I am very curious to hear the feedback on this

Very good beginning, but it needs to be more clear in several aspects.
For example, define "trust". Trust, like in GPG or social trust or what trust? How does one measure it?
Is it to prioritise people & their feeds or to increase interaction safety?
Sure, one could argue, that any implementation can decide for itself, but this would open hell's doors, because you certainly don't want different interpretations for such a potentially crucial feature, if one chooses to depend on it.
That's just a practice thing. At some point, you learn how to write efficient #SQL. However, this requires going through the journey of bending the human mind into thinking in #SQL.
Learning to use document oriented databases & #NoSQL felt like a huge liberation to me.
Recently, I got into #Redis, as well & it just makes so much sense, while #SQL always seemed like this alien way of thinking, you have to bash your brain first, to understand the point.
That's because of optimisation & using the most common API, not because it's so great.
If databases weren't all about optimisation, nobody would ever use raw #SQL, especially without some ORM.
You made the point. Some things just don't age well & in my experience, the only people who "like" it, do not really like it, they just have been using it for decades & are too used to it.
While #SQL makes inherent sense, it's still not something you would want to use nowadays.
God forbid, you get a woman without muscle spasms, which may break her spine! 😂
We are talking #JavaScript here & #TypeScript is basically polishing shit. As Mythbusters have proven, it is indeed possible to polish shit, but do you really want polished shit?
Would probably change, once this network explodes.
Doing shit in #JavaScript just makes you used to the most wrong way of programming there is, i. e. not even knowing what a type is, not to mention managing them smartly.
Finally someone said it. #FuckJavaScript
I despise that shit.
Please, use a separate machine, if possible & then play around, break it & set it up anew.
Rinse & repeat.
If you plan to use it on your production machine, never forget to...

Not a good argument. The government can just put you in prison until you give up your keys. So, from the user's perspective, you are swapping scat with shit.
Wasn't there a #nostr #nip about WebRTC signaling?
I just used Wormhole with a friend of mine to send him 6GB of data but the website we used ( https://wormhole.io ) was ... awful. xD I wish there was a better way - and maybe a Nostr Native one? Would be an amazing addition to a private chat; send files directly to the other person and stuff. o.o
There are plenty of CLI tools, one of them having even the same name as what you just used.
The same reason spam is so obviously fake. This way, they weed out all people with two brain cells. If someone falls for it, they definitely have less than two brain cells, i. e. scammers don't waste their time on someone who wouldn't fall for the scam.
It's an economic strategy in the scamming industry.
Just ask your local Nigerian Prince.
