Iris has not implemented delete on DMs yet.
Delete is up to relays and other clients to respect so consider it more as a wish than anything else. Hidden or ignored is not deleted. This is how nostr protocol works.

There are a lot of upgrades happening during the day even. They may have side effects but usually resolve by cmd/ctrl + R refresh or clearing the data.
An example from today (those posts are some 9 hours apart)

Iris stores your latest "notifications seen" and "dms seen" timestamps so that you can use different devices and they are in sync. You can approve it if you like. There's a "feature" that will keep asking it unless you approve it automatically (tick that box). Will be fixed later.

Iris got an update where you can view images better. Visit any user profile and you have the option to see the image gallery next to the traditional view.
There are some other improvements but Iris style discover them yourself and leave a note π€

Lots of upgrades so things may glitch at times.
"Clear data" Just be prepared to sign-in again and if it does not sign out it might be a good idea to do that as well.
You could also do a cmd/ctrl + R hard refresh when on Iris site but the clear data deletes the current cache.
