The 'only dimension' ?

What about compassion ?

Not in the USA, no.

Bitfinex loans unavailable to US Americans ?

For USDt loans? Currently using Bitfinex with a relatively small amount of BTC that was already KYCd. Will go with HodlHodl soon for better privacy. Bitfinex does have a fairly frictionless UX though, which is convenient. Probably I will pay off the loan on Bitfinex with USDt from an HH loan and then reuse the freed BTC collateral on Bitfinex. Could keep recycling it in that way.

I haven't used Debifi myself yet (but following it with interest). I take loans from another provider in USDt and then convert that USDt to fiat by a little bit of a roundabout way (but one that nets me a an additional 4%).

Loans against BTC collateral is a very promising area for development (and with more competition will come better options and lower rates). That's because BTC is the best form of collateral.

Another day, another exchange I am suspended from.

All of my funds are conjoined or swapped between LN/XMR for privacy before sending to exchanges, triggering all sorts of nonsense AML flags.

The exchange I am with now is requesting proof of funds, meaning it wants to see fiat coming into my bank account from an entity I have a business relationship with, asking me to "kindly assist them" in surveilling me.

Except that all of my business relationships are handled in bitcoin – meaning that it is impossible for me to show proof of fiat funds.

Alternatively, the exchange says, I could send them “the address” to which I received payment in the last year, matching the amount of money I have exchanged on their platform.

Obviously no such address exists as I create a new address for each transaction (and so should you). Additionally, much of my money comes in through donations, for which I simply do not have an invoice.

I could now send them every single zap I ever received on nostr in the past year – for context, that would be over 250 zaps in the past week alone, s/o to all the zappers – or I could move my business to Switzerland, where I can exchange up to 1000 CHF per day KYC-free (for now), which is what I’m going to do.

However, since I’ll be more heavily relying on peer-to-peer exchanges from now on, I’ll likely have my bank account flagged for receiving weekly payments from randos on the internet, making it fairly foreseeable that I’ll be losing my bank account in the coming months as well.

Fundamental rights violations aside, the amount of complete nonsense work – and with that costs – this system creates both for the Government and private institutions is absolutely astonishing. If there ever was a true bullshit job, compliance officer would no doubt be it.

It’s time we end the global discrimination complex inherent to the financial system in which we are all guilty until proven innocent, only to upkeep an inefficient system that is useless in preventing crime but formidable for imposing mass surveillance on the people.

So no, I will not "kindly assist you" in surveilling me, and if I die on this hill.

Until then, shill me your favorite tools to pay my bills in bitcoin 👇

The problem is that Big Macs have also been debased over the life of the company

Toyota runs massive political and media campaigns against electric vehicles. They have impactfully hindered, not advanced, the development and adoption of EVs.

Toyota has been found guilty on a massive scale of emissions fraud and fitting of emissions defeat devices.

Toyota is no longer the company it was up to the 90s when they produced good cars, reliable cars.

Musk is (mostly) a joke politically, I agree. He's very naive politically and also shows clear signs of bigotry.

However, he's definitely not a joke as an engineer and as a businessman. The vision and advancement of electric vehicles he has manifested through Tesla has been a boon to humanity. I'd have no problems buying a Tesla, as it remains a good company, and certainly much better than buying a Toyota or a Volkswagen.

Appreciate this thoughtful reply.

Agree with yr criticisms of Saylor, although I think Saylor has also shared useful insights into Bitcoin. But yeah, there's what I call Saylorism, which is a cult level idolisation of Saylor and I think it's dangerous for Bitcoin.

Which leads me to my next point - I don't know why you think high charisma is important for Bitcoin (although you attached it to libertarianism). Jack Malkers also has high charisma and I don't think he's particularly good for Bitcoin. Bitcoin has benefited from the weird and the nerdy, not the slick and charismatic types, in the whole. Or the completely anonymous ,as Satoshi modeled right at the start.

Bitcoin doesn't need heroes. Bitcoin doesn't need influencers, despite the fact that we're seeing more ppl attempting to set themselves up as such. Bitcoin doesn't need the cult of personality. And I'm wary that ppl are pushing (and maybe he is positioning himself? I don't know) Ross to step into the role of hero. That's actually amatha to me (hence my strong reaction).

I've yet to hear any real insight from him, and I read the DPR postings back when they came out. I've also listened to the 45 interview call he did from prison. In that call he acknowledged the stress he had put on his family (which his mother nearly died from) and that Silk Road may not have been good for Bitcoin (I don't think it was). So I acknowledge the greater maturity he showed in that call, but that maturity came from the self reflection that getting caught and going to prison can bring.

He's certainly lived an interesting life and yes, SR was a part of the late early part of Bitcoin's history (but not part of the really interesting pre 2011 period). Karpeles also lived an interesting experience running Mt Gox but I also wouldn't look to him for insight into Bitcoin. Both were just operational players.

Few ppl do actually have novel insights into Bitcoin to share. I just don't see why we should expect Ross to have any, when there's no history so far of him sharing any previously (that I'm aware of).

What bs. This empty message is an indication that he has little to say. He started SR as a brash young fool. He got a bit wiser in prison, but he's still a man of little insight. Certainly I've yet to hear anything insightful from him anyway.

It doesn't work that way mate across completely separate domains.

Stick a bookmark in yr North Koreans credulity. I am extremely confident that you'll be proved a fool to have believed it.

Root vegetables, particularly 'old-fashioned' ones, like parsnips, swede/rutabaga, sweet potatoes, japanese daikon, etc

Bread that would meet the strict German legal requirements to be called bread

Brown rice over polished white rice, good quality basmati

Rolled oats

Maybe experiment with 'exotic' grains like quinoa, millet, buckwheat, etc

Avoid almost all noodles. High quality durum wheat pasta is ok. but measure it out, generally 80 -100g per adult.

Pulses such as lentils, chickpeas, etc

Green beans, peas, etc

Maybe you could also experiment with 16:8 fasting (each day only has an 8 hour window in which you eat), if you haven't tried already, to let your stomach properly 'clear' itself each day.

Hope this helps 👍

Your mistake is not keeping this type of sentiment to a personal account, ie not this one. Doing it here undermines the objective goal stated on yr profile page.

A very large proportion of bitcoiners have mixed feelings about Ross and are not fanatical supporters. So you're unnecessarily alienating them. Which is stupid on this type of account (documenting Bitcoin), and shows me you are an unserious steward of the account.

I listened to the whole call and I watched the whole Silk Road drama play out back in the day.

What I saw then was an arrogant young fool actively taunting the authorities and eventually getting caught. His behavior in direct contrast to Satoshi Nakanori who cautioned against stirring the hornet's nest.

What I heard in the call is a somewhat chastened older man acknowledging that he may have harmed or set back Bitcoin (I believe he did harm community adoption) and apologizing for the distress he caused his family, which nearly killed his mother.

That's good that he's made that partial journey in self knowledge (a 'gift' that prison cam bestow). And I agree that the way he was prosecuted and the very harsh prosecution he received was very problematic (but not at all uncommon in the US 'Justice' system). So I'm happy to see him out of prison but after serving some time within.

But he's not a Bitcoin hero, and I heard nothing in the call to indicate he has any special or unique insights into Bitcoin. So I very much caution against the movement for his freedom being transmuted into adopting Ross as some kind of spokesman for Bitcoin.

There is no North Korean contingent fighting for Russia Peter. You are fantastically credulous around NATO propaganda.

I find it intriguing how someone can be so intelligent in one area (Bitcoin) and so fantastically stupid & foolish in another area. Of course, it's quite a common phenomenon but you are an extreme example.
