Chickens free ranging in olive groves lay great eggs, fertilise the soil, restore biodiversity and keep the cash flow. going when olives are on alternate fruiting

CO2 is not a problem, at all

crop yields have continued to go up for the last 100 years mainly due to it

debasement of currency, poisoning of soil and filling our houses and bodies with plastic are all provably negative things and they are based on debasement at the base

if we were still using primarily glass containers for stuff and metal and reusing stuff more, building objects and tools to actually last, instead of milking the money spigot, we still would need all that energy to manufacture those things, but our quality of life would be better, because we wouldn't be dying of cancer and heart disease due to the industrial processed food, i mean, just in the last 40 years the stuff you can buy at the supermarket has rapidly turned into shit because they have to lower the production cost because of the constant pressure of inflation on costs of living versus the slow movement of wages upward, being made worse by politicians

so they use all this cheap garbage shit, build stuff that breaks in a year

what does this have to do with carbon dioxide?

very little

they are actually lowering the enerrgy cost and measurably degrading the quality of everything they are producing, deliberately, in order to kill people without them realising it

nothing to do with CO2 and the effect of increased CO2 on plants is unquestionably positive and thousands of ice core samples from glaciers and polar ice prove that the CO2 levels have been declining for thousands of years, likely this related to several large catastrophic events that occurred about 12000 years ago, and happen on that cycle, roughly, involving a micro-nova, an extremely large solar explosion that throws so much material out, half burns the planet, radiates it with UV and x and gamma rays, and then out of this material, rocks form and then they hammer all the planets, there is airbursts, and then on top of all that, there are these special rare types of lightning that completely destroy a piece of land with an electrical discharge the size of which is comparable to dozens of nuclear weapons being detonated

such an event is coming in the next decades and the only thing that is going to help us survive is using the energy we have available to prepare for it

but the people in charge don't care, they would love it if 95% of teh population dies, so long as they are the ones with all the guns and gold

the same people who are profiting right now from all this poisoning you speak of

We agree on most points but you are missing my basic point - crop yields are going up because we are consuming / inputting more oil related products.

More oil, more CO2 do shift the agricultural production needle, but they are not the magic wand being pumped by energy afvocates.

There is no cause for celebration about improved yields when that is predicated on less variety, less food security, more corporate control.

In agriculture, systems using oil based fertiliser spike before turning inefficient with provably diminishing returns, which requires ever more npk fertilisers per unit, and a case/driver for more oil use. Shit compounded by fiat.

Etc etc

Any way, it's a good day to charge my batteries built with products mined by kids in the Congo. Whatever it takes to make my olive and almond wood pile look tidy :)

Cheers Btw as a user, what's the best way for me to help to keep your realy relay project sustainable?

Keep spreading the word. There is nothing complicated about growing. Nature does its thing, striving for balance. We just interfere with ecosystemd that we could never build ourselves. We impose insane demands and introduce ridiculous incentives.

Sadly mega farmers are technicians working on behalf of corporate bosses. The business models are slave models. I'm not talking based on newspaper reports. I am surrounded by farmers getting sucked in and spat out. Some can afford principles and call out the middlemen, but most are in debt so they just mutter into their beers and fold to whatever the Man says,

Consumers need to step up to help out. Demand quality so the farmers can cut back on quantity. ( Nutrition is all about nutrients not bulk). That's a tall order though when the disconnect with the land has never been greater.

Agree up to "the whole planet has got a lot greener because of 150 years of carbon fuel use"

Gonna have to pull you up short there. :)

Higher CO2 doesn't benefit all plants, which creates unpredictability. We can adapt, but quick changes in nature translate to dodgier food supply chains.

CO2 may have greened parts of the planet but the same carbon fuels are powering the destruction of green land back to bare soil. I think man has degraded something like 5 out of 8 billion hectares during its tenure, creating big trouble for the whole food chain.

Oil industry additives may have fuelled a green revolution but after it first raised productivity it then provoked decreased soil productivity, forcing farmers to use ever more inputs to maintain production. That foobar has been masked by fiat sleight of hand.

Your statement is also skimping over the minor issues on the other side of mega carbon fuel use - unbridled pollution. Pollution is gonna kill us off long before any climate related issue.

(This is the danger of current climate crisis policies, diverting the publics gaze away from whats killing us now, to focusing on green-building our way out of a climate "crisis". The causes of hat crisis are so beyond our understanding, that manipulation games can be played for ever.)

Oil pollution and chemical loads are undoing any greening benefits from CO2 creation. Our can-do mindset built on carbon fuel-powered industry has left our species as sick as parrots, infertile, autistic, asthmatic, yadda yadda.

Humankind has also surrounded itself in flammable materials made from oil. One spark and poufffff.

If we can just keep it simple, respect the carbon cycle, the hydrological cycle, the bi-cycle, and understand that homo sapiens has flourished because of a relatively predictable natural environment, unchanged for thousands of years, we will be fine. But most don't want to hear it.

When kids in cities don't even know where milk comes from or what cycle the moon is in tonight, the cord joining billions to nature has been cut...

Peace.

Is that green enough for land in arid Spain? Making land resilient with groundcover and focusing on perennials. Capture rain in times of flood in readiness for times of drought, ( soil is best reservoir, mulch is able to manage all degrees of rainfall) #homesteading #Spain

If you keep zapping good value info, the purchasing power of your current diminishing stack should go up. At least that's my experience.

I was being tongue in cheek. Great to read about so much positive activity around bitcoin at state level. It seems to be eclipsing the recent focus on the negative ideal of cbdc's..

Very enlightened view. Cheers

However I don't hear any poems in those tracks.

I used to play with a band and the singer rearranged the second one ( commercialised it!!) and came up with lyrics, but for the life of me I can't remember a line or word or harmony. That was in my memory loss period!

During a mid life crisis in 2016, I tried to self learn a few chords on a crappy €50 strat copy. In 2017 I started recording stuff into my computer through a cheapo soundcard. This is an example. I still have no idea where it came from or how to play it.

Then I bought a second hand copy of the guitar Angus Young plays/ed, scuffed it up a bit and recorded a track home alone. That felt better. I eventually plucked up the courage to play the recording to a time-served rock and blues man who had given me a couple of lessons.

Half way through he turned it off and asked “Where the hell did this come from?”

I answered, “The first lesson, you asked me if I wanted to learn music or tracks. Remember, I chose music?”

He smiled, said I'd played a couple of notes he couldn't reproduce on his guitar and put the headphones back on.

I still have no idea where it came from and apart from a couple of chords, I still couldn't play it again.

Having bared my soul I will now retire to my room and die inside! See what you think! #music #12songsofChristmas

Equal share of bitcoin wasn't Satoshi's goal, surely? He was striving to make sure BTC is widely distributed. As long as it gets spread wider than gold and fiat by a magnitude of order, bitcoin will be another epic fail, rearranging deckchairs on the titanic.

I remember december was a crazy month in 2020, scorching through 20k. Interesting chart:

https://www.statmuse.com/money/ask/bitcoin-price-dec.-2020

btc ending 47% up for the month, Dec 17th 2020 was the busiest day of the month.

some of all of that?

Oversight could be as simple as forgetting to put your hand over your mouth when you are coughing up your guts and you take out your family :)

There is word that the permafrost melting is releasing nasty substances that have been locked away for millenia. It sounds feasible, but equally it could be a great cover story for a mega chemical spill.

There is plenty of anecdotal evidence that virulent flu strains are doing the rounds. What their source is I don't know. Best not to assume it is just "natural".

In other words, I think the covid response blew the lid on trust in higher authorities and maybe that is the greatest damage, leaving the door open for mankind to not believe and not react to a real danger.

It's a cat's life on a winter's day in an olive grove in #spain #homesteading

yeah, that's my point... they NEEED the exercise, or they are unhappy, and then they make everyone else unhappy, and the strays, the problem with them is they don't have a human leader, so they are constantly in a competition with other dogs to be the leader and they often are also provoking constant barking as they wander past

keeping a dog as a companion only is irresponsible and delinquent towards the animal... it needs to work every day, hard, until it's tuckered out or it will grate the nerves of everyone living in earshot

fine if you are so far away from neighbours that the dog's guarding behaviour actually counts for something but 99.9999% of urban dogs are simply bored, you can even see it with the ones that are super manic, those are for sure almost without social contact at all, as well as needing exercise, so you see them bouncing around like maniacs, doing tic-like behaviours, often barking for no reason at all

every time i see it, i'm like, goddammit, this dog just wants some luvs and some work to do

people treat dogs like they are some kind of pet but that's not what they are, they are team members, to the bone, and just like humans go crazy when they are starved of meaningful labor, they also go crazy and stir up trouble, and the owners are responsible, but that doesn't change the fact that i want to put the things out of their misery, for which reason i MUST live where there is none within 100m of me or i will become traumatised

i can't begin to explain how horrible it was for me living next door to a chihuahua kept in a nasty, concrete enclosure right where his voice bounces straight through my windows, where i'm trying to work and not think about how i would like to slap those people for not taking him out for a fucking walk

the problem is quite extreme here in Madeira, because so many people keep small dogs and they don't even let them in the house, the terrain is too tough for humans to walk and they are all soft and mushy, not like the people that built this place, to actually do ANYTHING, and then there's the strays, which nobody does anything about, running around, breeding up more strays, and roaming the streets and camihos stirring up the rest of the dogs behind the fences in their nasty little boxes

they called the Canary Islands after the way the people in this archaepelago are so fond of their dogs, but i doubt that 100 years ago those dogs were not working for their food, what we have now is like some kind of mindless ritual behaviour that has lost all meaning

i'm just glad i was finally able to get far enough away from them that i barely even think about how there is any dogs around, but every time i go up to the shops, some asshole who lives next door to the church on top of the hill lets their dog run around on the roof and it yells across the whole goddamn valley whenevery people come up from the other side to visit the commercial district, like, what the actual fuck, don't they feel even slightly concerned that their animal is making such a useless racket? doggo loves it of course, he's the king of the castle, and that's the reason why he is so vocal

bitcoin can even fix the doggy world!!

Get nomad bitcoiners to hit social media complaining about dog issue. Then lobby the town councils to flex their authority for the good of the island ie request an antisocial dog order with teeth under the guise "to protect (bitcoin) tourism" worth X/ year!

You can launch a national dog walking service as an alternative to owners exterminating their moggies.

Take a walk past the vet to neuter them...

Very true about the saying "hard times make strong people etc."

I agree that neglected dogs don't do well. They are pack animals, need to be part of a social order also need a job. Anything from that list missing and they aren't happy.

Guardian dogs' job is to repel intruders before they intrude, so intimidating from their side of the fence and warning us by barking is what they do. For that reason I don't really mind if he's barking because 99% of the time there is something or someone on or coming to our property..

For sure I would be annoyed if an attack dog or a sheepdog was barking all night like your little fella. They are missing something to make them misbehave constantly. Hunters around here are so heartless how they chain up their dogs between hunts.

I would not have a dog if I needed to walk it specially every day just to keep it sufficiently exercised. There aren't enough hours in the day to artificially wear out this beast!

Those not on nostr are in the gang of cant's. Can't speak freely, can't avoid echo chambers, can't...a long list

The full moon pumped BTC and dogs everywhere I think. Our guardian was barking as if we were under constant attack from marauding barbarians. So the neighbours' dogs responded and nobody gets to relax...all the best to K9.
