IMHO the best way to go is a “fee only fiduciary financial advisor.” They earn money by the fee they charge you, not commissions from the products they sell you. They are legally required to work in your best interests, not rack up a bunch of fees.

Secondly, get a referral from someone you know. Don’t rely on advertising or internet searches. If a financial advisor has to advertise for business they don’t do a good enough job to be overwhelmed by referrals.

I’ve been with my current advisor for six years. He charges $800 a year. He tells me what to invest in and how to invest it. IRA, 401k, personal growth portfolio, etc.

Finally, before you contact a financial advisor understand why you want to invest. Do you want to save for retirement? Do you want to grow your investments? Do you want to generate income?

Equity can never be given. Equity must be acquired through proof of work. People given equity do not and could not value it as much as one that earns it by the sweat of their own brow.

Made my first batch of homemade sauerkraut. It’s delicious! I never thought letting something sit in my basement for nearly a month would produce something edible. Salt, water and cabbage. I added some caraway seeds for seasoning. That’s the dark specks. Also, I grew the cabbage! For me, one of the most enjoyable parts of homesteading is the sense of accomplishment I get talking something from seed to table.

“Legal ethics” are not virtuous ethics or moral ethics in the sense you are suggesting. Legal ethics are a set of rules designed to ensure the fairest possible outcome. However, as many other man made inventions “legal ethics “ are quite flawed. I put my ex through law school and it changed the way her mind worked. How do you rectify the previous statement of fact where the government has been a major influencer in the economy and still call this a capitalist system? Rather, it appears that we are a democracy in decay. Also a strong parallel to the fall of the Roman empire. Once people have the ability to vote themselves free stuff, democracy begins to collapse. We are born with all the rights that we will ever have. No government should decree them. Abilities and responsibilities however, are earned. There should be no right to vote, but an ability to earn the responsibility of voting. Every democracy that ever existed has collapsed. Historically speaking, shortly after giving a majority of people the ability to vote.
