Freedom. Truth. Value. Happiness. Good life. This is what I'm after.

Has anyone used https://bitcasino.io/ ?

Legit?

Better options, ideally with lightning and no KYC?

I feel like playing blackjack, small stakes, as entertainment, just because

But isn't it that we have two, distinct, very different use cases here?

One is a long term store of value. Cold storage. Significant percentage of one's savings. Protection from inflation.

On this one, I think Bitcoin clearly wins vs Monero.

Scarcity. Network effect. Market cap. Adoption level.

The other use case, in my view, is a use for daily transactions. Hot wallets. Frequent payments. Fees matter. Speed matters. Privacy matters.

For this, we probably need to compare Monero with Lightning.

On this one, I think the verdict is less evident. I can imagine a scenario where I convert my Bitcoin, small amounts, to Monero, using some non-kyc exchange and using Monero for some transaction where privacy is very important for me, eg to buy a VPN , where I want to make sure the vendor cannot identify me. Does that make sense?

But yes, perhaps equally well or better, I could use Bitcoin for this, with coin joins and lightning, to achieve privacy and speed and low fees. Without a need to convert to a different cryptocurrency...

I think time will tell which one becomes more popular. Today both options are complicated.

My heart is closer to Bitcoin. For sure as a digital gold, probably also for day to day transactions.

One more scenario is also possible. Neither Bitcoin nor Monero becomes widely adopted for a daily use, in our lifetime, and so it will only be a long term store of value, treasury reserve asset.

For this use case, I definitely bet on Bitcoin.

I do think it may prove very useful to have a second passport, as a plan B, in case they want to do another lockdowns, vaccinations, mobilization, even higher taxes or alike, or if there is a war in your country (for example, I live in a country that may be the next one invaded by Russia)

I've been thinking what county could that be. The one to have a passport of, as a backup.

BRICS, I mean, as much as we , correctly, criticize dystopian policies of the US or EU, I do think the West is still, by an order of magnitude, better than BRICS in terms of political freedom, freedom of speech, property rights, etc.

As much as I hate high taxes, state propaganda, or f... masks and politicians corruption, still, you are, I think, by far better off, on freedom dimension, in the West. For sure at least comparing to Russia or China.

But yes, maybe good to shop for a second passport. But where, I'm unsure.

One thing I'm sure of, there is no perfect country.

And the better ones make it hard and expensive to immigrate. And the ones that are more open, are typically poor and the level of the rule of law may vary and may deteriorate as well.

I wish I had more answers.... Others thoughts?

What is a good backup option passport?

Please announce once they Kindle version is available. Thank you.

Try to take a few steps to un-brainwash yourself.

They can't tell us what to think, but they can tell us what to think about. And within that small corridor, they can establish a good vs evil narrative. This warps your world view, no matter what "side" you are on.

In reality, there are no "sides".

So how do you stay sane in an insane world?

- Don't engage when you get emotionally triggered, and don't come to sudden conclusions about "current things" that you are not well versed in. You don't always have to have a strong opinion about stuff.

- Stop consuming content from channels that have a proven track record of psychological nudging such as corporate media, statist communication, and centralised social media.

- Curate your feed. Treat your mind how you treat your body. Don't feed your brain with constant garbage.

- Don't believe authoritative sources. Always try to get the full picture, instead of just leaning on one source, such as government, academia, or other institutions. Always ask for verification and proof.

- Cultivate and rely on strong bedrock principles, then you are less easily swayed by nonsense, fear and other feelings. Develop your inner compass.

- Choose what you want to focus on, consciously, for your long-term mental and physical health.

Lastly, someone said, if you get angry about something or someone; wait 24 hours until you respond. If you are still angry after 24 hours, then you can engage in a more conscious way.

I'm not perfect, and I'm constantly make mistakes, and its part of the journey. Failing is the greatest teacher.

Great point. Zapped. Boosted. Clicked heart. Added to bookmarks.

Is there going to be a Kindle version available?

Sleep

Remove distractions

Remove or reduce sugar and alcohol

Sun exposure in the morning

Caffeine a bit later and none in the afternoon

Meditate to practice getting back to the thing you want to focus on, eg a breath, once you got distracted

And supplements? Maybe D3, and, anything else, likely best only if to know from blood work that you have a deficiency, assuming you eat a balanced diet with all need nutrients

Otherwise, yeah, magnesium, etc.

Or ephedrine for a strong, potentially unsafe and illegal kick, but I'd use it in emergency only, not a sustainable thing
