“Women rights” and “fight with extremism” in #Kazakhstan at one picture:
🔻 Sandugash #Turlibekova, a single mother of five, in a small town in #Kazakhstan. Sandugash, as a "very dangerous criminal," a criminal case was opened against her & she was detained by a local SWAT team in front of her 5 kids.
Her crime? Being an admin of a WhatsApp group for mothers with many children, where she criticized the authorities for violating their rights.
🔻This photo illustrates “protection of women rights” in #Kazakhstan in practice, an in fact a bright example of abuse of #FATF recommendations by dictators to silent critics. It is just one of thousands cases for the last years of arbitrary arrests/harassment against critics of Tokayev’s regime.
🔻The next step: not only the arbitrary arrest of Sandugash, but total financial exclusion for her and her family members/associates under pretext of the fighting with extremists activities in Kazakhstan.

Living in democracies makes people to feel that freedoms are given forever.
Nothing is forever.
Just the opposite: it is the result of the sacrifices and enormous efforts of many previous generations to secure these rights.
If we remain silent, ignoring and accepting the destruction of our rights, it will be our responsibility and even a betrayal to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.
Help spread the word, persuade other bitcoiners to take the initiative and do the same in the #UK before the election - UK is one of G7 countries. Journalists also need to be educated. You will be surprised how your position and example makes changes.

📌Authoritarian regimes and dictatorships use this information both domestically and transnationally to destroy activists, journalists, women's rights organizations, and #LGBT rights organizations.
📌Banking privacy doesn't exist any more: personally I, Open Dialogue Foundation and members of #BTC Coalition testified to the EU and US institutions about such abuses.
📌#Bitcoin and self-custody privacy-protecting payment instruments/wallets are the only tools we can use to uphold human rights.
📌In seven reports we documented how authoritarian regimes use their financial institutions to circumvent sanctions to support each other and avoid accountability for human rights violations.
📌Bitcoin blockchain technology #SimpleProof is an example of how bitcoin can help protect election results from fraud and malicious #AI influence (#Guatemala 's case).
📍Solutions:
▪️G7 policymakers should use neutral regulatory language when it comes to #freedomtech, #bitcoin, privacy payment/crowdfunding instruments.

ESMA is working on the draft report for the EU Commission about the sustainability indicators, and from its methodology language we understand they are going to classify #PoW and #bitcoin mining as unsustainable for environment before 30 June 2024.

I would argue: because dictators always prefer to get your profitable business in their hands and crypto-assets exchanges are not the exception.
Regardless p2p transactions - we also have to be smart and look at other jurisdictions, for instance #Kazakhstan. Everyone who is doing p2p transactions #bitcoin to cash is under risk to be accused of being assisting money laundering.
I guess we can also ask Femi #Longe about the oppression of those who conducted bitcoin p2p transactions in #Nigeria.
It is difficult only because we don’t do it.
I know it is difficult to be the first. But #SatoshiNacomoto didn’t afraid to be the first promoting #bitcoin, right? Let’s do our part.
It is difficult to set new standards or defend freedoms, but it is possible and very clear how to do in democracies. Right now we are at the stage of elections in many countries when those who want to be elected will have to listen to us.
We need to use this moment and clearly say our expectations. Im sure in your constituency you have meetings with politicians. Go there and ask build on arguments questions. Prepare your speech. I did the same yesterday and discussion turned out completely.
No one can argue when you expose the weaponization of banking data by the dictators in the EU/democracies. It is uncomfortable fact: there is no protection against such abuses.
The only protection is p2p bitcoin transactions and privacy payments instruments. Politicians and audience don’t know about it. Explain like for children those cases. We will change narrative and win. ⚡️🫶

🔻Educate both politicians and journalists about the abuses of AML/CFT laws by dictatorship and weaponization of banking data.
🔻Ask politicians from you constituency about that issues as a condition for your support to elect them. Be vocal!
In doing so you protect developers of freedom technologies and bitcoin specifically - they will be targeted first of all in case of adoption of negative regulatory language to set up a chilling effect on the industry.
