Reminds me of images of where WWII aircraft had bullet holes.

"Do you need shielding where the floor is wet, or where it isnt wet?"

I don't know, I'm pretty sure that while dudes for Harris are all saying "don't stop, we want more!"

Makes me miss the days before I was broke.

What about when there's nuance, like there often is, and the explanation attempts to address it?

Wait, do you know more than a small handful of people who don't have completely asinine views on many of not most topics? I mean, I love a number of the people in my life, but that doesn't mean they're not jackasses, or that they should be trusted with much more than the drink order.

I understand why you feel the way you do, but we are where we are, and as the saying goes "there's no putting the zap back in the nutsack."

Yeah, most of what comes out today reminds me of something that I would have seen as a child in association with church, seemingly so focused on relaying a particular set of morals and virtues that everyone associated with the project apparently forgot about things such as plot, character development, acting, making it interesting, things like subtly and nuance, respect for the audience, etc. 🤣

If I was better with this platform I would have quoted or linked to one of your posts where you make fun of devs for shamelessly trying to solicit financial support 🙂

Yeah, I've long tried to maximize simply pleasures, and minimize easy pleases.

I have opinions about nostr, but that's not why I'm here. Also, I assume they're not particularly informed or relevant, so I'll keep them to myself.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but using nature as an artistic canvas almost always gives me similar vibes to those from the thought of using a beautiful woman's face as an artistic canvas for stereotypically shity face tattoos 🤣

While I often see eye to eye with your rants and associated assertions, a rule of thumb of mine is that: those who think the other side is the problem are generally part of the problem.

To me, the thought of having kids is about like the thought of marrying a guy; I just don't have either urge, I don't understand either urge, and I find the general idea of either to be profoundly unappealing and off-putting. And don't get me wrong, I'm glad that it's available for people who do want it, but for me, I have to assume that either would have costs me huge life opportunities that have meant the world to me, such as marrying my wife who has also never wanted kids.

While there are obviously exceptions, and different people have different priorities and perspectives, from the youngest of ages, almost all the adults I've known, almost all the parents I've known, seemingly live lives that consist of little more than bouncing between fulfilling biologically motivated urges, and meeting social requirements and expectations. And obviously there's nothing wrong with that, but I never saw the appeal, I've wanted more.

Many bitcoiners tell stories of when it clicked that the world at large is fucked and they could no longer simply "be normal and meet expectations". To me it never made sense or had any appeal, and I've always felt the same way about having kids.

All that said, while my life is "weird", and "quirky" by the stands of most, I love it. It's full of passion, joy, and meaning, and I wouldn't generally dare ask for anything more.

I'll keep that in mind for when I'm transported to a magical world where there's even just one person who's in no way annoying and never drives me bonkers 😂
