GM! Weekends with the family are great. The smile of a child is my favorite thing no matter how many years go by.
Large open offices and lots of different simultaneous conference calls make them a near necessity imo
Open Sats has graciously provided me with a grant to get the zines (https://satsie.dev/zines) into the hands of more people!
If you are a non-profit or a bitcoin educational group, I encourage you to use this form to apply for some free zines: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1nBsm0zhY6nY2uNvOzJzMPMF4MQ6sMtMNISFJHe7X47k
To my international friends, I am sorry to say I am currently only distributing to the US as the cost of international shipping is more than the cost to produce the zines. If you are outside the US I encourage you to print copies of your own for free! You can find all the PDFs here: https://satsie.dev/zines

The zines are great!!
Yeah it’s a half decent theory, but it often doesn’t play out that way if you didn’t have good opsec/privacy. If the American government wants another nation to deny someone entry they usually will. They commonly ask for those on watch lists or criminal investigations to have their movements restricted and this is usually honored. An extreme but illustrative example was Pablo Escobar’s family was unable to travel internationally at the request of the US government. In a time of crisis the US government can easily just declare an emergency and close borders.
This CAN work, but it requires both good enough opsec that the American security state hasn’t flagged you as someone of importance and leaving before that crisis is in full swing.
And even if you have successfully traveled somewhere, most nations will still adhere to American extradition requests.
However this is written from an American perspective. If someone is from a country that has less international power projection I can see this as viable.
Custodians are just future rugs that haven’t happened yet

For Americans, dual citizenship is mostly expensive and pointless fear porn. As the US extraditing Roger Ver for not paying an unconstitutional exit tax shows, a powerful government can still chase you abroad. Privacy and opsec are much more important.
However if you live in a country with weak overseas power projection, I can see it being somewhat valuable. However, a focus on basic privacy is time and energy much better spent and wildly cheaper.
As we constantly see with extradition and prosecution of non-Americans and dual citizens such as Roger Ver, this will not protect you from US law enforcement if they actually care about you. Privacy and a low profile are at least as important if not more so. This is mostly an industry of consultants selling fear and charging rich people to feel more comfortable than it is true protection from a powerful tyrannical government.
Nothing is perfect protection, but BTC in any upheaval is likely a much better asset to hold than dollars in a bank account where your money is both fiat and not really even yours anymore if something severe happens.
Yes. XYC domains are a shitcoin
No major politicians are truly for privacy
This loop has been there for at least a few months and many people have mentioned it, but still not fixed. Shame

Inspiring is right
For general everyday purposes an iPhone with a decent VPN such as iVPN or Mullvad in lockdown mode is quite secure.
The Avalon Nanos are pretty good. Main downside is it’s totally closed source and the app isn’t the best. But overall pretty easy and great price point. The Heatbit is just so wildly more expensive I cannot make sense of it. Don’t know if I’m missing something.
GM! Have a great day! nostr:npub1qdcakl75gd7wv0nqmmwrz09ddm5tzl7xj8lq2gclng2qzd8up5yqjpzclt is now my favorite podcast. Learn the most from it by far. Give it a try to take your technical knowledge up a notch.
Would love to learn more about mesh tastic

I’m trying to put together a review of a nostr:npub1srsa6lqlxnqfg3lgmzjxrjtn77tlju7t77zy8t6t9ydlnkv7syts8dwhlh electric heater / air purifier/ bitcoin miner
I’ve used one for 9 months now.
What would you like to know?
Compare the value and pros/cons compared to Canaan Avalon Nano that is only $130 even with power supply for roughly same hash rate. 🫡👍🏻
Great to hear! It’s not as hard as people think
Just my humble opinion, cities aren’t inherently bad. Depends on your own individual concerns, needs, and wants. For people considering big moves it may be best to rent while you are getting a feel for a new area and deciding what works best for you.
Everyone should assume that a trusted third-party when threatened with or actually put in jail will divulge all the data they have on you
Imho this isn’t even a Bitcoin problem so much as just a general financial fallacy, and is the main reason why people usually do better just buying index funds than individual stocks. I have some luck trying to explain this isn’t a Bitcoin thing, it’s a timeless financial principle. There’s a famous investing saying, Water your flowers and pull your weeds. If you sell winners to buy losers you’ll always have shit results in any asset class. What they’re doing is like selling Costco to buy Kmart.
Sometimes we all just have to learn thru pain
Tons on the west coast of the US. See 5-10 per day, sometimes more. Lots of custom paint jobs and wraps too, even some advertising businesses.
I have a 4+ year old halfway busted iPhone and nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg and nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 still run flawlessly for me. Weird to hear of so many problems from other folks…
GM! Video verification for any financial assets (not just Bitcoin) is a bad idea imo. With the proliferation of incredibly high quality AI deepfakes, it seems at best it won’t be highly effective long term and at worst it’s just a security hole nightmare.

Love and use Nostr.build, even have a T-shirt from them. But to be clear it is a centralized service. Just good guys running an open sourced centralized service. At least that’s my understanding from their website where they describe using cloudflare and AWS. Please correct me more technical folks if I’m off base.
GM! Trump and Kamala are both terrible. Sure one is probably better on the issues you most care about and it’s totally cool to vote based on that. But don’t forget they both still suck and you need to take self responsibility to improve your own life and not count on corrupt politicians and government to save you. Opt out with #Bitcoin
