Probably with ginger, sarsaparilla, brown sugar, and a bit if lime juice you could get pretty damn close.
Yep, another way to describe this, I believe is autocratic communities. I believe that diverse community is the key. Peaceful cooperation through respect, even if that respect is brokered through mutually assured destruction.

Lol, it can be tough. I spent a winter in Sunndalsøra. I got so depressed. I don’t have that stalwart Norwegian resolve, I had to go chase the sunshine. I left, my girlfriend at the time stayed and that was sad, but eventually the story found a happy chapter, and we’ve been writing new happy chapters for decades now.
nostr:npub14eng8plhflea40cu3lafnw6nwkxsp5te2v7hzy74lz6a9mjhpaks0wm4rw my current situation is that i'm kept alive by the welfare system here, but i have no opportunities appearing for me, and all i do on most days is wake up in my apartment and then i just sit there.
You are from a stalwart, principled, persistent culture. Being single and unattached can be a real asset. Gather your convictions and find a way to engage them, likely you will meet people who fuel you and you them symbiotically. I believe there is a gamut of personalities in any culture, even one as homogeneous as Norway. Somewhere out there, a person is sitting in an apartment thinking the same thing. Get out there and find them. It will save you both.
nostr:npub14eng8plhflea40cu3lafnw6nwkxsp5te2v7hzy74lz6a9mjhpaks0wm4rw you must understand that i'm in a situation where i'm not loved by anyone - including family (death and other things caused that to happen). i'm very much on my own. and i'm not good at operating independently.
I hope with all my being that you find deep friendship and love in your life. I have only my nuclear family for similar reasons as yours, I have been in a similar place. Keep believing, in the meantime, know that there is a supportive community here, and people, myself included who enjoy your presence and opinions here. Hang in there!
nostr:npub14eng8plhflea40cu3lafnw6nwkxsp5te2v7hzy74lz6a9mjhpaks0wm4rw well, it's not so much that i wish for more strife necessarily, but i'd trade away some comfort in return for more heart.
Absolutely understandable. Just my opinion, but I think most Scandinavian cultures are too risk adverse to make that trade. Safety in stubborn stoicism is predictable, but often unfulfilling. As a flamboyant Scottish heritage guy married to a Norwegian, I have some perspective, but certainly not all, or even any real answers. 😊
nostr:npub14eng8plhflea40cu3lafnw6nwkxsp5te2v7hzy74lz6a9mjhpaks0wm4rw i have no idea what you're replying to. your post just randomly appeared in my notifications without being attached to anything.
Bizarre, my comment was regarding the wishing for strife while living in the meaningless safety of Norway thought of yours. Having visited Norway for extended periods of time, I suspect you aren’t alone having this sentiment.
Wow. There is plenty of misery to go around. Do you identify as an ingrate occasionally? Involvement might help.
All I can say is masturbation. Your body doesn’t distinguish between the causes of orgasms. Like brushing your teeth, or defecating, it’s an important daily function for hormone balance, physiological, and mental health. No guilt, have fun!
I think it is largely a matter of definition and distinction. Most people I meet who identify as anarchists are actually agorists. I think there is a place and time for anarchy, but it is not a method of governance in much the same way that democracy is not a suitable method of governance. As with so many things, the answer is not a dichotomy, but a gradient.
I used to disagree, I had belts, wooden spoons, and the occasional fist as a kid. I raised my kids with none of that, and after studying psychology I realize in a very real way my upbringing did me no favors.
*That’s us folks!
It’s prurient to remember that the citizens are always the good guys. That’s is folks! Don’t ever forget that.
Yep, it’s been nice talking to you. We’ll work towards a brighter future.
Maybe not in true democracy, but certainly with wealth cartels running the world. Democracy isn’t the whole answer, and is singularly unsustainable, but the world could use a lot more of it right now.
If this is to happen, we (humanity) won’t be able to just watch.
I tend to define anarchy as the absence of adherence to the rule of law or social and cultural norms. I see it as a state of animalism where self gratification is the only tenet attended to. As such, humanity would devolve to a lone wolf mentality, with survival at all costs ascending to the top priority, followed by unconcerned procreation. If it sounds familiar, maybe you saw it on Animal Planet. 😒
The sheriff actually does have ultimate jurisdiction in the US.
