The authoritarian "transhumanists" & their infinite controls & limitations & plans for 15min cities turn people into exactly the sort of stupid NPCs they believe them to be. They are literally soul sucking parasites.

Seeing some of the convos tonight shows that there are still lots of people (even on nostr) who wildly underestimate the Thanos like nature of some of our political overlords. People like Gates, Soros, Harari, and others openly want to reduce the population. They believe their efforts to do so are necessary to "save" the world, & that they are the only people "rational" enough to have those conversations & hatch those plans. They are quietly working on all fronts to grow their personal wealth while making people sick, sterile, aimless, culturally broken, unable to connect with others, & unable to perceive or acknowledge even the most basic aspects of reality. It's just the same hatred of life at the root of past fascist/socialist/communist efforts repackaged into "transhumanism" to address their own fear of death.

I often hear people in the West deride China as communist and a much worse place than America. I'd like to understand why. The term "socialist" or "communist" is not detailed enough to explain why, so give more details.

Free markets, private property ownership, and the profit motive are very powerful, distributed things that make a country rich. China has adopted all of them. They say it is "glorious to get rich" and there are wealthy business owners making a killing.

What appears to be different is that China has the CCP which acts as a top-down authority that can pretty much do whatever it wants. So people have economic freedom as long as they don't piss off the CCP.

But America's executive has sovereign immunity. The Executive branch can violate all kinds of laws and you cannot sue them for it. They can ignore the Supreme Court (and have). And they have all the ultimate power. So just like in China, you have economic freedom as long as you don't piss off Joe Biden.

So to me the difference is only in the specifics. China controls speech a lot more (which I very much don't like), but the US is trying hard to catch up. China still tries to do "think big" projects that most Western countries already learnt should be market driven, not government driven.

What did I miss? I must have missed something important.

Fortunately, I don’t carry credit card debt. Most Americans do. When the consumer credit bubble pops, god help us.

Start training with regular shotguns by going to trap and skeet. It's not going to be easy to hit a moving drone with anything that short and no stock.

Even without things being crazy on any sort of global scale. The Nile floods all the time & any river that regularly floods may go many decades or even centuries between the most severe floods. The story of Noah is about a man who was "perfect in his generations" which probably means all of his family relationships where healthy. And because of that he knew to heed the warnings of elders & the family was able to work together against all sorts of social attacks to build the sort of structure that would ultimately save their farm. They acted on what they knew to be true, not with concern about what others would think. Through family cohesion & efforts to prepare themselves for the unexpected they survived the storm. And part of the message is also probably that people who seem crazy might be able to see something you don't.

Stories that get told over & over, & especially when translated multiple times (idioms, phrases, & literary devices for communicating significance rarely translate well) naturally end up exaggerated in a "telephone game" like manner. The message is what's important IMO.
