Good morning, Odell! Loved your recent RHR
Working hard on building that future. Apple trees, ducks, goats, sats, music, family
GM, nostr friends!
I need to learn more about relays (or Alby, maybe) because I often have trouble connecting, I can't do any custom zaps, my emojis rarely work, and my default zap amount is sometimes 10 sats and sometimes 42 sats.
But here's an interesting note that probably won't be a surprise to most of you: I'm disappointed when it turns out to be 10 sats and happy when it's 42.
Zapping is nice, and zapping more is nicer!
Today plan: practice so I'm in decent shape for tomorrow concert, usual animal and land chores, start to work on filling in a gully on our land. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!

#coffeechain (does it count without a photo?)
Nice! so you'll basically have sod around them instead of just loose soil?
I posted a bit ago about how I planted apple trees with baptisia in the same hole (for nitrogen fixing), but it hadn't occurred to me to extend the principle to cuttings/ ground cover.
haha! love this š
At this time of year when we wake up it's below freezing in our tent, but I always check the retort in our stove for the previous night's burn before getting dressed because I'm so excited about making biochar!
The internet is weird. Iām listening to a talk by nostr:npub1wslkwq0yrwvlff2n2sr7r4ct6gs480mfj7v0v8xqk0fde6a4krjq5g8r6f about his research of social media.
One surreal split was the woke / anti-woke fight in pro-meth subreddits.
Thereās the main meth group with 181k members: https://www.reddit.com/r/meth/
Then thereās a group who didnāt like the woke politics of the main meth users group, so they created https://www.reddit.com/r/MethWithoutCommunism/ which has 28.5k members.
I had no idea that there would be a political split amongst pro-meth mutual aid groups online.
oof. I'm way behind you - I had no idea there was such a thing as a "pro-meth groups."
But wow - that's kind of interesting.
I don't understand. If married women have joint accounts, I assume you mean joint accounts with their spouses, right? So that would mean no individual accounts for any married folks.
This exchange started with you writing "I'll never understand why married women are online." I'm a married woman who's online and it never crossed my mind that being married means that I shouldn't be online or that now that I'm married I shouldn't have my own account. So, again - why? I appreciate a lot of what you post, and I'm genuinely curious as to your reasoning.
Lots of pain, but also no sense at all of how things work. They think the government can control the price of an item and magically every other variable will stay the same. It's bewildering to watch.
So it's not women being online; it's them having their own accounts? (I guess by that logic, men wouldn't have their own solo accounts either.)
Your think that married couples would all have joint online accounts?
Why?
Good morning, Nostr! Last night we played a concert in our nearest town (went beautifully, and I'm feeling very grateful for a lovely new community of people that we're meeting).
At some point I need to get a photo of my black velvet skirt with big old mud boots, which seems to be the only way to be mostly dressed for a concert when we leave our land if I want to arrive in decent shape. Concert-ready from the knees up, homestead-proof from the knees down.
Today, usual chores on the land and some online teaching, plus I have to finish arranging some music for our next concert this weekend. If I have time, there are a few bareroot trees (hackberry, persimmon, mulberry - one of the patches of trees for our hilly pature) that I want to get into the ground.
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
Good morning!
Are you getting the half cow already butchered? I know that's the norm but am curious about getting large cut and trying to butcher our own cuts.
For a while this summer we picked up several buckets of butcher "garbage" to feed to our soldier flies for chicken food (not a success, but we learned some lessons, and I'll try again next year with modifications). I was surprised at how much good fat and organs were in there.
ha! okay. So let me rephrase my question: why would married women not be online?
oh dear
I've seen parents allow all sorts of stuff. I think it's terrible for the child š
Gorgeous photo! those beds look so good
She's so bad. Psaki was terrible too but at least she could kind of pull off the lying and spinning. Jean-Pierre is just embarrassing.
Sometimes we are more miserable trying to hold the pain at bay than just feeling it. Opening up, as you say, usually means waves of grief, but there's usually a softening over time if we just let ourselves feel it. Resisting is exhausting and can keep us stuck - like needing to keep our whole weight pressing into a door to keep it closed.
If they won't appreciate them, don't break them out!
Def doesn't make you a horrible person. And if you still want to feed them well (and with well-raised meat), do you have ground beef? So much yummy stuff you can do with ground beef without dipping into the precious steak supply.
Cool!
