Violinist and teacher, building a homestead on raw land in between lessons and concerts. Fascinated by how we can develop resilience in our lives, in our families, in our communities. I'm excited about freedom tech and circular economies, and am deeply grateful for the devs and advocates who are helping build tools for a better future.

You could also buy formula for the little one made out of corn syrup and soybean oil. (He's probably past that stage by now, but just saying...)

Poison with an FDA stamp of approval? all good

Food that humans have been drinking for millennia? Illegal

It's so absurd.

Right now our chickens are free range during the day. I love having them moving around the land as they see best, but they dig in everything that I'm planting.

My current solution is to put a wire ring around every single new tree and bush (which actually helps a bit with mulching) but in the long term we definitely need another solution. We've tried the usual chicken fencing but in the spring the ducklings try to get through the mesh and get caught.

I'll keep you posted on the willow fence! First step is to grow enough willow to have the cuttings, so it's a multi-year project.

As long as the market cap is priced in dollars, won't those two numbers tend to move up together?

This post is an opportunity to share a coding protocol I have been working on called BLISSC: Biological Life Support Systems Code. It requires studying how waves and diversity of information is transmitted and interpreted through organic observation of neuron activity in critters like us humans, owls, peacocks, and spiders.

This @Animals post describes what humans witness as a dance. There is a lot more happening at an atomic level beneath that surface area interpretation from a limited perspective.

The spider's "fan" serves to redirect waves, sounds, frequencies - all received by the female as either a noisy clarinet, screeching trumpets, elegant quartet, or symphonic masterpiece. The female is not selecting based on aesthetic and dance moves. She is selecting for range of frequency transmission to facilitate intellectual evolution of offspring.

The elements of our universe have sounds, it is the language of spiders:

Spiders are beautiful. They are complex critters whose lives are steeped in sound. They are plugged into our world's natural dj 24/7. A perpetual ⚡erenade of information. Gifts on the wind.

How can one see math in a web?

Where does code and math fit?

Webs are beautiful manifestations of the sounds of information at an atomic level.

Spiders read the code of waves in the wind like a composer piecing together a grand symphony, and they tune their webs like natural musicians, pro guitarists.

Here's another side quest to better understand how sound has shape:

Webs are beautiful manifestations of the sounds of information. Spiders read the code of waves in the wind like a composer piecing together a grand symphony.

Sounds are elements, are colors, are numbers, are pictures ...are all information.

Critters and plants all respond to similar sounds, colors, waves - and interpret them all the same. We feel emotions from songs, our ecosystems respond to the information received. It is more than sound. More than waves. More than feeling.

The information does not change, only the life form and mode of acquiring the information. This is the basis for a standard of packets of uncoded meaning, waiting to be interpreted between organic life in the BLISSC protocol.

Anyway, happy ⚡aturday 🌻

Have you heard of the concept of structured water? The basic idea (as far as I understand) is that water absorbs the impression of what's happening around it. So water in a stream might be "structured" by the sounds of frogs and other animals (and I guess many other frequencies in the air and land around it?).

I don't know much about it but it's always struck me that there's so much that is happening in the natural world that we don't usually perceive.

Wow 🤩

I've always assumed that the word "normie" was specific to a general philosophy or community. So there are people who are normies relatively to bitcoin but are relatively awake and aware about the dangers of centralized control, etc. Relative to the lockdowns and mandates, "normies" are those who truly believe that public health officials have the best interests of the public in mind (as my grandmother would say "oh, bless their hearts").

There's obviously a lot of overlap in those two examples but I'm sure this concept is used in a lot of communities. As someone who's very happily married and sees the benefits of monogamy, I'm sure I'm considered a normie by everyone in polyamorous communities.

All which is to say - I bet we're all normies but in different ways and to different people.

Some of her language ("as we de-industrialize") might be off-putting, but this is an excellent video on using willow as living fences. And it's the fence that keeps on giving: the summer prunings are great fodder for ruminants, the winter prunings can be used for baskets.

I'm trying to move away from YT, but some stuff on there is so useful! We're playing around with the idea of a willow fence for our chicken run.

For years, I never asked anyone for anything; except to ask what an appropriate bounty is for a site build, or asking for folk's merch links so I could buy it.

Stayed in my lane and out of the way.

Never bothered anyone, unless posting song links and sharing some journaling is a bother? Ok for others, just not me? Guess I was doing it wrong. I thought I was doing ok. I incorporated feedback. Improved.

Relentlessly supported everyone in this space for years, to the best of my ability. Treated everyone in this space with the utmost respect and kindness.

Why the gossip?

Heart hurts to see how late I am in figuring this out. What the fuck did I do? I had been catching the vibe for a while and just ignored it. I can't ignore it anymore.

Gossip is bullying.

It's cruel and ignorant.

If I keep my head down and work in the shadows, people gossip that I am hiding shit, call me a fed, liar, grifter. I never ask for anything from anyone. I am not employed by or funded by anyone. Anything I have shared/said can, has been, or will be verified. I literally have zero issue in sharing.

If I peek out and attempt to interact and share and do my building publicly, it is more of the same. What the fuck. It feels like I'm stuck in a gaslit twilight zone.

"Come out of your shell! Interact! Share what you're working on! Be yourself!"

Bullshit.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. My heart hurts. 😔

If anyone is interested in facilitating progress, wants to meet and take or discuss any of the projects, or would like to contribute work (site work, editing, research), I am here and I am not fucking leaving.

I exist. You don't have to like it.

Nostr is for everyone.

I'm not kissing ass or begging for anyone's fucking approval or acceptance.

Want to gossip? Go fuck yourself.

Want to engage productively?

Let's fucking go.

oh 😟

I don't know the background for any of this but

I think there's a tendency in this space - where everything is running so intensely and the stakes feel so high - for folks to sometimes default to suspicion and accusation.

I'm sorry that your heart hurts

Wow. So Ayre puts a bounty on someone (is that our nostr:npub1cjw49ftnxene9wdxujz3tp7zspp0kf862cjud4nm3j2usag6eg2smwj2rh?) to "lure" COPA and thinks he's on the right side of things?

If you can find a regenerative ranch - and there are a lot of them! - it's also pretty much the best way of eating to actually support the environment.

Cattle who move from paddock to paddock improve the quality of soils, increasing microbial life and water retention, decreasing erosion. Over time, most regenerative farms see an increase not just in microbial and fungal biodiversity but also in native wildlife.

(Also those small farms usually have 1/4, 1/2 or whole cows available. Pair up with a few neighbors and you'll have some of the most delicious, nutrient-dense food on the planet for a fraction of what you would usually spend on groceries.)

Understanding our mortality is not a bad start. There's a vague underlying belief of indefinite life when holding on to a false hope of safety and comfort, thinking that if we just play along we'll get to continue endlessly in a familiar system.

Once it hits that you have limited years on this earth, making necessary changes in the direction of sovereignty is not quite such a big deal.
