I find this puzzling. I've literally never been harassed on Nostr in the 7 or 8 months I've been here. I've muted a handful of accounts because there's some shit that I just don't need on my radar, but even that wasn't directed at me.
No moderation means that it's up to us - mute freely, post freely, zap freely - but along the way we will no doubt be exposed to stuff that we don't like.
In any case, Kayla - I'm sorry this is happening to you!
[And to all the folks who are building out Nostr, whatever your gender, you have my immense gratitude ๐๐]
Yah, okay. I actually considered this but it seemed like a weird April fool's joke. I think you recently lowered the fees, right? So I assumed this was a continuation of that.
In any case, happy April ๐ป!
Whoa - that's exciting but it significantly changes a promise to your current clients, since one of the things you offered before was the knowledge that everyone had to pay to be on there. Skin in the game for all users increases privacy, reduces spamming, etc.
hello ๐๐ผ
welcome to Nostr!
"Let's take a big picture look" proceeds to hear a much bigger picture.
That was very satisfying
"Biden issuing a ruling" is one of the most insane things I've ever seen.
He's the president of a republic, not a king.
(Also, nation-wide rent control? what could possibly go wrong? ๐คช)
this is a hard lesson for me. I feel like I have to learn it over and over again (or - more likely - it still hasn't quite sunk in)
Wait - what?! Ectopic makes sense but hepatic??
I guess I need to read it but I'm trying to figure out how the egg (much less the sperm!) gets to the liver. Gahhh ๐ถ
earthworms are the ultimate "if you build it they will come"

This patch is part of an area of badly disturbed ground. Last summer it was bare clay, hard as a rock, so what you see is a huge improvement.
Each spot where we planned to plant this spring got a nice pile of mulch around January (Sept would have been even better!) or at the very least a piece of cardboard. The cardboard looks ridiculous - messy ugly shapes all over the land - but lifting it up is a delight: earthworms and nice moist ground.
I'm getting ready to release my next single on April 26th. I'm doing a cover of "Lovesong" by The Cure... Here's a video from Dripping Springs Songwriter Festival last fall. Will be uploading the new track to nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg soon!
gorgeous!!
Interesting!
Dunbar's number is often what I come back to when I look at human interactions within society.
Our human impulses - whether we consider them "good" or "bad" - make sense within a small, interdependent group. Many (most?) are a disaster when applied at the scale of a nation.

nostr:npub1r8wdfruydenz84fxfespcswuhcvyatx6umtd5xguexup49u500xskf50hn โs TikTok convinced me to pack a suitcase and head on over. Iโve been discovering this app since 5:12am. It feels like my brain just unlocked a hidden vault inside The Escape Room๐คฏ๐ Happy to be here! #newtonostr
so exciting, right?! welcome to Nostr ๐
I like it! I don't have a strong opinion on the yellow vs orange (maybe orange better?) but I like her smile ๐
Another vote for finding a nearby regenerative rancher who sells 1/2 or whole cows. If you're already buying grassfed beef, it's much cheaper. If you're not, it's better quality for what may be around the same price as supermarket meat. (Depends on where you live, obviously, and also how much freezer space you have.)
This breaks my heart, and it makes me sick that I've helped pay for just about everything bad in your post. (Not on purpose, but still...)

Nice! personally I wouldn't mind seeing even more excitement on the child's face, but the changes are great.

Hi beautiful Nostr folks!
I'm excited for this new week. Lots of trees to plant, and this weekend when we visited our favorite nursery I picked up a few extra plants (ha! it's an addiction at this point).
I'm preparing for a concert in a few weeks so it's time for some more serious practicing.
Today: download new parts and get started on them;
plant 4 elderberries, 3 honey locusts, all of our remaining strawberries and small plants;
choose spots for the siberian pea shrubs arriving tomorrow;
lots of teaching this afternoon.

GM!
Today I'm teaching, practicing and getting a bunch of trees into the ground. I have some bonus to-do items but will be happy with those.
