Primal is really fantastic. Can’t wait to see that client fully open and working.

What tools are you using to make these?
But of course 😆
Later Miami! Had a blast meeting everyone 🔥💜
If you think about it as a metaphor of CliMAtE ExTiNcTiON it’s pretty annoying. But if you go into it as an metaphor for the global debt collapse, it’s actually a pretty decent movie 😆
(There’s some kinda stupid, and largely political javs made that take away from the movie and feel totally out of place, but i enjoyed watching it overall, not a “must watch” by any means though)
There’s some meetup and presentation on a self hosted Nostr + AI thing at Yardhouse about to start for anyone around.
Yo #[1] do you need any of these? I’m pretty sure the last time we hung out I could smell your ass. nostr:note17r00jqgl7qt9pretl2nyhhxhrh0lsze2wytacrhlkg4jt7mlen9qx5z47d
I bought some buttwipes 😂
Met some guy in Miami today...
Thanks for all you do!

I think so, but not sure what episode it would be. I’ll poke around and see if I can find something
Distribution isn’t really good yet but it will be available in basically all the major podcast apps when I get some time to devote to it

Hold up, is that a used S9 ASIC mining bitcoin while converted into a space heater inside a sexy nostr:npub1lrjgpa9m2dl6esdah5pq7m005ymwh4glq4aet76q2zlz2f83esfsa2zvrj printed case, or is that just some wife-approved modern art? The correct answer is both!
I finally finished my build using nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8's easy-to-follow tutorial video. This miner/heater has been up and running on the #braiins pool for about a week, so it's almost time to move him over to my pre-coiner neighbor's house, where he has a cold basement and excess solar energy that he's presently selling back to the power company for $0.03/kWh. We're going to turn that cheap energy into his first sats! Sometimes an orange pill looks like a #iowa #hawkeye themed S9 space heater.
Now I need to build another one for myself. What should the next heater theme be?
P.S. I still blame nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev for starting me down this miner/heater rabbit hole. Thanks a bunch, jerk. 🤣🧡⚡️

You are welcome! 😘😂
An interesting way to think of AI:
It's just an insanely good compression algorithm. However, rather than being able to extract all of the images and text it is trained on word for word like we normally do with compressed files, it stores a highly generalized relationship between one set of words and another, and one set of pixels and another. So you can't pull an exact image like you can from a zip file, but you can pull the *idea* of a cat, the *style* of Wes Anderson, and the common patterns of a landscape. It's a compression of ideas and context as a collective, rather than the compression of the exact group of individual images that can be later recalled.
#AI_Unchained

who was that?🤣
I think as the software optimizations come out, the M1 and M2 are going to stay amazing options. I keep filling up my 2TB drive on my Mac, but Stable Diffusion models run pretty amazingly on my MacBook (M1 Max)
nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev Guy, I loved your show with Booth on AI. Like you, I want to dive deep and will follow new episodes closely. As a nomad, I need mobile hardware for compute. Maybe you can make an episode about the hardware requirements and what sort of Laptop would do the trick for the nomadic kind. I am sure there are others like me.
That’s a great idea actually! I’m building a computer that’s just as decked out as I can get currently, but I think as the space develops there will be a much clearer direction and choice of hardware that’s still a bit vague right now. But with Mojo (new language) and new models of chips that will be AI optimized, there will be a lot to unpack with hardware choices.
I think they’ve been running the airlines through the banking system so every time a bank is insolvent a flight gets canceled.
I think that means we are fucked 🤣
In 3-5 years I think all the most important and useful AI tools will be free.

Same. I didn’t use it very much anymore, but getting it clean ASAP. I always knew trusting someone so focused on shitcoins was a terrible idea, but I hadn’t thought they’d be THIS stupid nostr:note1hm60paxnp8326f5vg6x977tef9pclul5lrd05xetsgysutddkk4qhz5vvk
I questioned whether I'd post on Twitter at all honestly. But there's still a bunch of people over there that deserve a "thank you" that wouldn't see it on Nostr
Dude, I’m talking *about* wokism. Woke IS racism. And I’m specifically referring to the “White Fragility” and explicit segregation from that group and stating the fact that this has been the dominant cultural force and has been politically coopted. As well as the fact that it’s destructive and hateful.
Funny enough, your immediate equating racism with only a particular racial dynamic (ie. Racism can only against black people) is actually an indication of just deeply rooted the ideology is. They’ve managed to hide the painfully obvious and comical irony that racism *cannot* be race specific.
I think you are both jumping to conclusions and not reading my actual posts. Move slower & be less reactionary. I could apply those principles more often myself.
With the wrong philosophy and values, there is no problem too small that you won't manage to completely screw up.
With the right philosophy and values, there is no problem too large that you can't overcome.

Just had a thought - Imagine an AI ChatGPT-ish running inside a video game that is designed to act like 1000s of unique NPCs. They all have a personality and you can interact with them and convince them to help you, or make them angry, etc. they could have their own goals or things that you have to do with them and you have to change how you interact based on actually getting to know them.
I definitely wouldn’t have the time to play this game, lol, but it sounds like there is fascinating potential here to make games insanely dynamic, actually have nuanced *social* conflicts and challenges (no more just endlessly killing NPCs), and without any explicit path, but still maintaining an overall structure and narrative. Even crazier, it would involve SO much less work for the developers. Basically describe important characters, what important information they’re know, or object they have, and then let the AI do the rest. 🤔
Lol, you need to generate boobs? But of course.
More seriously though, Stable Diffusion is an open source image generation tool that has rather incredible capabilities. It takes quite a bit to get the hang of the many settings and customization techniques, but it’s super powerful once you get the hang of it. You can find all sorts of custom trained models on huggingface.io and civit.ai.
MidJourney is a paid option that generates cooler out-of-the-box images and better understands the context you are asking for, SD is much less intuitive for prompting and more bullet point / listing details oriented. MidJourney has some sort of prompting mechanism so it better grasps what you *mean,* so it’ll give you what you are looking for better. You’ll need to explore a lot of customization tools and prompting extensions with SD to fine tune, but you can eventually produce comparable images. I use MidJourney for ideation and compositing a lot, and then Stable Diffusion to narrow down, edit, and create a specific look or concept.
If you just want to generate boobs though, you can download Stable Diffusion, grab a simple model for porn and go to town 😂. Civit.ai specifically just has all kinds of porn, it’s ridiculous - literally like 2:1 porn:normal stuff lately🤦🏻♂️. Basically all the paid and public tools are restricted, but SD can generate whatever and is run locally.
If you own a record player, but don't get "Everyone's a Scammer" on vinyl... then what value does your record player provide *really*? 🤔

Dude absolutely not 🤣
Defeats the whole purpose of the show & kills all the fun!
Second, yes we should be making that judgement as engineers, just as everyone who worked on it has always done, or the system literally could never have worked. It’s not a judgement of “which transactions should be allowed or which people should have access,” which is the principle you seem to *want* to apply, but doesn’t. It’s about what *kind of data* is allowed, which cannot be avoided.
Again, you seem to be sacrificing the extremely unambiguous concerns of security and design of an engineered, open protocol & network, for abstract libertarian principles that cannot apply unless the system works in the first place.
You are falsely equating the conversation with censorship or specific ideas or specific people, when that isn’t what it is, anymore than the blocksize is a “censorship” of all the people who want to use Bitcoin but can’t fit their transactions in.
There are engineering realities that we can’t hand wave away with moral declarations.
Imran Khan arrested in Pakistan 🇵🇰 https://nostr.build/av/c0ea21ab50e828673624e567e4b919a43689be7d328414077a83b3edf5e18672.mov
Who is Imran Khan? Political opposition to the establishment?
I’d bet Thomas Massie has
I haven’t done the math but I doubt it, however at the pace it’s starting and the degree of leverage/insolvency with much less runway for others to buy up the liquidity, (demand & trust falling fast) it very likely will surpass it.
This is where lightning and hyperswarm come in. What amount of GPU power can’t be found in the Bitcoin and crypto world? In fact it will actually put the 10s of millions of crypto miners to good use finally.
Prediction: AI is going to be a revolutionary *interface* to the ocean of software and tools we already use (including those that build more software and tools) that will unlock vast amounts of application function that is simply lost due to illiteracy and a far too vast information space.
Check out how Microsoft Copilot works: AI is more akin to the revolution in computer interfacing that the mouse and keyboard were, or that multi-touch was for the smartphone revolution, than it is a standalone app with some new specific functionality. It will end up being a computer (or internet) wide, contextually relevant knowledge base for how to use any and all of the tools available to you, as if it's all just a single, universal UI system to accomplish whatever you need at any moment.
AI will be able to use ALL of our apps, better than you we for most of them because it doesn't have to "learn" them. To the point that we might not need to bother to ever know how to use many apps, programs, CLI tools, or functions on our computers, because if the AI knows how to accomplish what we are looking for by using them, why bother?
Think about it like a calculator: Why learn how to manually do long division when it's just the "divide" button on one of numerous devices always within reach? Or having a physical map: why remember directions when you have a live map with traffic updates at all times in your pocket. One that speaks directions out loud?
This same relationship is about to apply to basically any or all software on your computer. It can integrate with web requests, run conversions, knows all the commands in your command line by heart and which ones will help in your current task, it will predict what you might need next, it can accomplish short, simple tasks that you might have needed an app or extension to accomplish before, but now AI can create a script or executable on the fly, specific to the exact situation & instance in which you need the functionality... so then why save it? The AI can just write and execute new code next time, that is specific to the next situation.
I bet that in just a few short years, interacting with a computer *without* an interfacing AI will feel like trying to sprint in knee deep water. This is going to put a 2x-4x growth trend every year in user speed and capacity to accomplish their goals **on top** of Moore's law's already exponential increase in *computing* power.
AI will create an exponential growth of *user* power on top of the already exponential growth in *computational* power.
Have you seen this Black Mirror episode? If not you should definitely check it out
