De-googled pixel 7a is actually quite a nice phone. Fuck Apple. Left those twats years ago. They trap you in their ecosystem and it's a huge pain to transfer all your data out of it all while forcing you to buy expensive Macs and headphones and specialized chargers and cables.
I've basically turned my phone numbered cell into a landline. Only keep it at home and turn it on occasionally to check for messages/calls. Take a non-phone numbered cell ( w/ data) with me everywhere with a simplex messenger for important people to contact me.

Has to do with the way Graphene locks out the ability to add esims once its loaded. I believe there is a way to load an esim once the phone is flashed but you have toggle a bunch of settings and re-enable google services and what not (Don't really know cause I didn't go that route). Whereas if you load the esim before flashing Graphene its already there once the phone is flashed.
Took the dive and flashed #GrapheneOS to a phone today with a #SilentLink eSim paid for with magic internet money. The future is incredible.
