There's really nothing that had all the characteristics to be a cryptocurreney from before bitcoin. Ecash is a payment system rather than a currency.
What about when he gives the right impression in his speeches, but the 6000 page bill gets negotiated in the house for a year, with a neverending assortment of concessions and unrelated ammendments added?

I don't know what the Danes have against people running open source software but something smells rotten in the state of #Denmark
https://thebitcoinmanual.com/articles/denmark-ban-btc-wallets/
Bitcoin is a tool for giant investors and corporations to get rich at the expense of regular people, that's why we're banning regular people from holding bitcoin and only allowing it to be held by giant investors and corporations.
lnbits is a nice way to support a bunch of backends, or you can use it to emulate lndconnect
Why can't we just focus on keeping these things cross compatible? Especially if they are key-based, there's no reason you have to lock yourself into one or the other.
Of all the currencies not backed by anything and you think that of bitcoin? Bitcoin IS the one that backs.

Still 35GB remaining on my 1TB bitcoind/electrs node
I can imagine in future lightning implemeltations whnch have a cashu node built in, for the purpose of minting ecash tokens and sending them out as donations, to be redeemed later by the recipient.
About time to recognize and embrace the fact that the Lightning Network has failed as a fast micropayments system.
On top of that, nostr integration (zaps) is slow and convoluted and hosting your own LNURL server a pain in the ass. I tried a few weeks ago and gave up.
Where did I move to? Custodial providers. Mutiny (with Fedimint - which then broke), Alby and npub.cash.
Custodial is the only realistic solution for pocket change amount of sats, so why not embrace that and make the best UX possible? The UX nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft just demoed is basically unbeatable.
It's not only good for me, it's good for all the new people we will onboard to this magic world of bitcoin and nostr 💜
It's our responsibility to keep incessantly educating about self-custody for larger amounts.
LN is interoperable with ecash. In fact ecash would be a lot less useful without LN. If you still want LN you can still set that up and sent and recieve from ecash users:
Biggest issue we have with ecash now is that there are two competing standards with incompatible formats. I prefer fedimint because I want the money federated across mulitple juristictions, but I guess cashu is easier to intergrate.
Awesome idea from nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg Idea: LNbits PoS that accepts Cashu ecash but immediately melts to its own LN wallet instead of holding it as Ecash.
Would allow anyone to pay with ecash (also while being offline) and the PoS operator wouldn't have to trust any mint.
Like to see all wallets enable this. Accept everything, instantly convert to whatever you wanted.

He's not wrong. Notice the "terms" he reffers to are all crypto terms related to other coins like ethereum. Much of bitcoin culture visible to outsiders mirrors what is happening there. To find the "real" signal beneath it all takes effort.
"Trust this npub as if it was me" seems like an extention to web-of-trust level itself. A step above "I have a close relationship with the person behind this npub" etc.
Why would they need bitcoin when they can just buy anything they need with printed euros?
Trying to post to nostr on coracle.social inside Tor Browser, logged in with #amber, but seems like the request goesn't make it from coracle to to the app.
