This is what I think nostr needs to grow, so this is what I provide. I'm bored with the Bitcoin echo chamber that is present here. That will not attract those who don't yet know Bitcoin.

Thanks. I would label myself neither of those things out of respect for those that actually are. I just make stuff as best I can with the tools I got.

Next project will involve fabricating and welding and I'm definitely neither of those things 😅

Completed the first phase of the next timber framing project this weekend. Adding a bench to the mudroom section. Matching the shelf from earlier. The joinery on this build was significantly easier than the shelf (the diagonal brace on the shelf is one of the more complex joints to figure out in timber framing... No idea why I started with that).

These are the majority of the tools used for building the frame.

I feel I've become much better getting more accurate cuts with the handsaw and laying out my cut lines. This reduces the amount of work required with the chisel. The wood is very far from square or straight, but it's just a bench 🤷

Hogging out the open faced, crossing mortises on top of the legs is by far the hardest part of this build. Encountering cedar knots is a very unpleasant experience and slows the process considerably. Paying attention to grain direction is critical to avoid split outs. I had a few on this project as you can see, but once the bench top is installed most flaws should be well hidden.

The completed post just looks really cool.

Adding the first layer of the crossing tenons starts to bring the joinery to reality.

Had to pound in the cross pieces to join the two sets of legs completes the joint and really tightens up the whole frame.

The final dimensions are 24"x50"x18" for the frame with a 2" top yet to come. I'll likely end up lower the posts to account for the thick top plus leveling for the floor.

This one hits. I've met many farmers and wannabes with similar stories and likely new stories being written everyday. This is what fiat does to families, farmers, livelihoods, future generations.

I wish. We hired in a portable sawyer with a TimberKing.

Cold 🥶 Storage Beef 🥩 | The Confab 07: Zach Herbert

▎Welcome to The ConfabThe term derives from "confidential talk", which was commonly used in the Prohibition Era for meetings and conversations that took place in the smoky, rule-breaking speakeasies of that time. The informal, privacy focused and clandestine nature of Ungovernable Misfits lends itself to these discussions. So, grab a seat and a stiff drink from the concealed bar, listen and revel in the conversation. On this episode, Zach Herbert from Foundation Devices drops-in to speak with Max.▎Show Discussion          1. I'm a CONTRARIAN because I want the TRUTH! 🔥

I use the same step in posts and put the wire on the third slot from the top. Lambs go under when they're smaller, but respect it more as they get older.

We don't run dogs, but we do run sheep and cows together on a single wire.

Farmers are too busy trying to keep up with the rat race that fiat creates. Downtime is very important to explore creativity and self education/exploration... Exactly what the legacy system wants to extinguish.

We opted out of the fiat regen ag game and focus on food fit for bitcoiners. Best decision amongst many we've ever made.

So, now that I gotcha on nostr and that has proven to be a great move, I've got another.

That logo is killer. It needs unleashed.
