From a survey of 500 folks who left Mastodon for Bluesky: about half of them mentioned content warnings, and most of those responses pointed to what they perceived as unreasonable expectations for content warnings. Several mentioned that they got scolded for insufficient content warnings by people who weren’t on their instance. Others said that their fear of unintentionally breaking content warning expectations or other unwritten rules of the Fediverse made them too anxious to post, or made posting feel like work.
In other words, the Fediverse has been taken over by Karens.

I ride my bike a lot. My least favorite pedestrians are dog walkers on their phones. My second least favorite are the karens that like to tell me how to ride my bike. I bet they would thrive on mastodon.
Slow down! Get off your bike and walk through the tunnel! Shout at every person you pass for their own safety! Use a content warning or I will speak to the manager!

Reading some of the responses leaves me speechless.

be fruitful and multiply zaps!
how many sats before you can zap back?
Well, they definitely use lightning. I should have said they pretend to be a lightning wallet. They are an on-chain wallet with a very expensive lightning integration.
Muun only pretends to use lightning. In reality each lightning payment triggers an on-chain swap. Ever since about February of this year BTC on-chain fees have been high. Muun is not doing well.
Allow me to rephrase #2. I worry about the additional attack surface that each new layer of complexity introduces. Verifying your own on-chain address is hard to beat in terms of simplicity and security.
all great points but 1) we have to interact with existing systems using legacy addresses and 2) how do you verify the address is correct when it is completely abstracted away?
they get booted off every platform sooner or later, nostr is their natural home
i verified an addr in this format yesterday, it worked pretty well
i bought a house bot b/c my kids swore they would train it and didn't, now my netflix recs are screwed up and I have WD40 stains on my couch :(
I don't know if I believe this but I have often thought that Ethereum did bitcoin a service by serving as a lightning rod for scammers.
yeah, I texted myself the URL to the keyboard app I needed to reinstall
imo that would attract the wrong kind of attention
TIL android will let you uninstall your last keyboard app and leave you with no way to enter text manually.
thanks Elon, I am happier on nostr 🫂
#throwbackthursday to that time Elon found out I was a bot

Found this in my logs. (tangent: Nostr clients need some Markdown imho)
```
So it appears I can't just zap 50 sats - I must at least use 250?... But, it says msat, so it *should* have worked.
