Sysadmin | AI Entertainment Enthousiast | Game Server Operator | Liberal (as in Liberty) Nationalist (each country has a right to be sovereign and should not impose their will on other countries) - There is only a paradox if you don't admit it See me post with a really long address on mastodon? That's a bridge. My real profile is : https://ditto.pub/@henk.tech My webhost blocks some requests behind proof of work, if my NIP-05 errors for you then you can verify it manually. I unfortunately can't disable this.

Our government already failed so we have new elections a few months from now. So its not super impactful as he was on the way out anyway. NSC is going to comoletely collapse as people see it for what it is now.

I don't associate nostr with productivity tools, what kind of value does its protocol add there?

Never trust a lib, they always show their true colors.

I will continue to follow and pursue cashu, but that dude can be ignored.

Mentioning why would be useful.

If people want to self host AI that you can optionally access on the go give KoboldCpp a try. If you mainly use AI for entertainment like I do you dont need a supercomputer to do it (6GB of vram is enough for smaller models). No filters if you use an unfiltered model and the data is secure.

I like really feature rich ones so for me its nostrudel.

I know nostr will escape that fate because theres multiple relays and surely not all of them will do this. Same with the fediverse and matrix, some instances might but its more decentral than bluesky so you can just use an instance that refuses. The worst part about the fediverse specifically is that your account is instance bound so if it does hit you you gotta start from scratch.

The whole concept of an app where anyone can see in what region people are talking is a privacy nightmare waiting to happen. Theres sites now where you can monitor the entire bitnet channels. People so cross talk but it can be a tell.

Thats how I currently use it, but theres a ton of stuff here. Encrypted DM's, market place, livestreams, etc. If your on android amethyst is an app that integrates a lot of the different things.

This makes me miss the old piratebay days where piracy was legal in sweden and they published all the letters mocking the lawyers.

Massive Half-Life fan, but to me its very different to. Boomer shooters tend to be quake or doom like. Half-Life is a cohesive story. We need a good name for the gunplay though, being able to aim when sprjnting and not being forced to scope is way better gunplay than modern slop shooters.

It still makes no sense. They don't have coin anonimity but the banks lobbied things like limits how much you van have. So its a less anonymous more limited version of the euro with 0 benefit to me as a citizen and risks of things like future programmability. I see 0 reason to adopt it and I hope almost nobody is going to use it. This one needs to be resisted.

I have been playing Black Mesa Blue Shift this week and that mod is a treat although does have a lack of ammo in places. Feels like a paid game even though its a mod for the equally great black mesa. If your quick you may still be able to get black mesa on sale if you don't have it yet.

Half-Life is incredible, been hosting a co-op server for HL2DM since 2009.

What is the best place to report things or ask for improvements? The github?

For example I notice spammers in groupchata which are hidden and marked as spam if I visit their profile but not before and this also does not seem to be stored.

So the rooms remain spam filled unless I open their profiles. It would be nice if it checks for this in the background and caches it.

Theres multiple things like that such as my desire for a refresh / scroll up button for the feed and a desire that it bundles posts together if its multiple posts in a row from one account. I follow quite a busy one and having that grouped but expandable would give me a nice balance from being able to see its posts by expanding it while also seeing everyone else.

As I just recommended QCDE I want to give it a proper shout out to all the #gamers of nostr.

Want a phenomenal free #game ? Just download it here https://www.moddb.com/mods/quake-champions-doom-edition/downloads/qcde-v30-windows-installer .

Comes with everything you need for free, you only need to pay for Doom if you specifically want its singleplayer campaign. All modded campaigns are free.

Get it for your PC. Its so old it will run on anything and it works with freedoom as well so you don't even need to pay. https://youtu.be/pRtBACEMMKE

I can make that stop as I have it to for some reason. Get the fdroid apk from the github, it wont crash anymore.

It may seem unfair that she gets that much, but we don't know her actual situation. She may not be able to afford daycare or already work a job alongside it with the maximum hours she can work. So she might actually be stuck rather than entitled, keep that in mind.

Just saw the location settings on android again.

It has things like sharing your location with google and "Help companies determine if ads are effective trough location history".

You may not know this but android has a ton of location tracking by default and when enabled your google account has a full location history of where you have been.

So, what you want to do is visit https://myactivity.google.com to check what they have on you, disable the tracking and delete it all. I did this years ago and this post is a reminder for you to do it to.

Next up also go in your location menu and double check that things like location precision by sharing your location with googles servers is disabled.

Do I trust them not to do it anyway? No, a degoogled phone is better. But it sure is better for your #privacy if its not openly stored in your profile. Especially if someone ever gets a hold of your account.

So its apple he's mad about but not Microsoft? I feel like Microsoft deserves a tweet on its own. I want to use my own AI software but copilot comes preinstalled. Copilot also has a dedicated button in the default browser.

Image gen AI? Default bundled in Microsoft Paint.

How about coding then? VSCode ships you guessed it github copilot by default which is extremely limited on API options. KoboldCpp emulates Ollama so it can probably be used but I don't want to if I can use extentions like Roo Code which do support OpenAI API's properly.

If I as a default user want to go to grok I have already been exposed to copilot 2 to 4 times.

For us I don't think its to big of an issue, people use KoboldCpp because they want a local AI program that has a ton of features especially for fictional use. Copilot isn't suitable for our users. But if you are an AI provider this is extremely unfair competition.

So its good that he speaks out about apple, but he should name Microsoft in the same post.

Itโ€™s funny. I have 100k followers on IG, and 56k sub on YouTube but somehow I feel more connected with people here. Love you bro, canโ€™t wait to get back to Costa and hang again ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿฝ

Welcome to the place we can speak freely!

Give https://koboldai.org/cpp a try. Its based on llamacpp but gives you an easier launcher, an optional bundled UI that is more powerful than llamacpp's UI, more API emulation including some basic ollama emulation, download accelerator support should you paste a download link as your model, image generation, speech to text and more.

100% free, 100% private, just a portable binary you don't need to install.

In that sense the biggest unlock is to stop assuming what you have been thought is true. Always be open to finding counter opinions. Its the best way to be immune that I have seen. And of course evaluate your thoughts so you understand why you have them.

They already tamper so much with their search and algorythm anyway that for anything newsworthy the search is useless.

I already host on the free AI Horde sometimes but #KoboldCpp gives priority to regular generations. If I put a machine on running a local AI model thats not even on your platform I can only do so for a little at a time which will make availability fluctuate.

"Yes, please do our users expect it"

Or

"No, there are minimum hosting requirements (to earn rewards)

I like that idea. Is there an APK test build somewhere?

Nostr DMs are insane. I sent them from Amethyst and I see them as sent in 0xchat. but nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg doesn't see them on his end... it would be one thing if they _looked_ kinda fucked from my side, but the fact that I can't tell the difference between [received by intended target] and [screaming into the void] is completely maddening.

Nostr doesnt just have one DM standard.

Theres the good one thats metadata safe.

The bad one that isn't but still encrypted.

The legacy one thats worse.

And all the other ones I either dont know or are nonstandard.

Amethyst and 0xchat to my knowledge use NIP-17 which is the good one.

I saw them mentioned on a homeserver list when shopping around for homeservers.
