My husband and I live on our 40 acre off-grid homestead in Northeastern Arizona, we're frugally building it up from raw land to our dream homestead. We sell small batch herbal tea blends. My husband is a Journeyman Inside Wireman and former law enforcement. I'm a recovering corporate drone (HR). Follow along to see us build out our homestead and businesses. I'd still take that over 110 or really anything over like 95! 🤣

Picture of one of my Sunflowers just because I'm excited about it's potential!

This is a Hopi Black Dye Sunflower, half of them that I planted have leaves with a black outline on them, the other half are normal looking Sunflower seedlings. Curious to see how they look when they're grown.

Oh yeah, we're going to refinish the inside of them and then use them as our monthly rotating emergency fuel supply. One needs to have a few spots on the bottom welded but for the most part they're in really good shape for the age of them.

Yes the jerricans were the original reason we went to check out her garage sale beyond just supporting friends. One is actually a mess kit, has three containers inside of it with serving utensils.

I looked it up by the CAS # and didn't see anything else with it but either way we don't plan on using it as food grade just for protecting wood that goes in the ground as we build infrastructure and definitely not on anything near our garden or that will be in chewing distance of livestock.

A friend from church had a yard sale, her husband passed about three years ago and she felt it was time for his stuff to find new homes where they would be appreciated and used. She also was getting rid of her canning item. We picked up all this and more for $160, because she just wanted to see it be used rather then rot in her sheds.

My husband is an outdoorsman as well, I actually did go through and just put different things for our area with electric and that's the one he liked the most, apparently sounds better than Pronghorn Electric or Jackrabbit Electric! 🤣 There is a lot of hunting in our area so it fits.

When I finalize our marketing I'll set up both a Instagram and Facebook accounts. Our area is pretty rural and Facebook groups seem to be the best way to get in front of a lot of people, that and word of mouth, which he already has some from the little bit of work he's done.

I'm thinking I'll take some video of the next install he does and turning it into a reel to start.

It may seem a daunting task, but nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll makes it easier.

Or you can buy one of their nodea that are ready to go and are priced really reasonable.

I look into it more, thanks for the recommendations! I appreciate it!

Anyone use David the Goods vetted swamp water in their gardens? It's our driest time of the year and we're struggling to keep our compost wet enough to break down at the rate that we need to add nutrients to our garden. We're in the process of setting up our worm farm but still a ways out from it producing what we need and the vetted swamp water seems to be a good alternative but wondering if anyone has used it amd what their experience has been.

You can run this app on your own private node.

I look into it some more but I'll also have to learn how to have my own node, total newbie! Thanks!

Alright, it seems that Billy's Bone Sauce kept them from nibbling on our squash plants. The rabbits definitely came and checked them out but didn't nibble for the first time in a couple of days. They only seem to want these specific squash plants, they've left all my other plants alone, including a couple of other squash plants.

Alright trying Billy Bond's Bone Sauce on some pallet wood to try to keep the cotton tail rabbits away from my Tromboncino Squash. We have been trying to borrow our friend's tractor but it just hasn't lined up to get it and we don't want to put our fence up around the garden until we finish digging out our garden beds and putting in a swell at the bottom of the garden.

Haha, and then seeing one for the first time too. Ours are white and grey to match the junipers and they are strange looking. We had some that just kept going off this afternoon and I was so done with them. Glad they stop at night here.

First summer living with Cicadas and it's been over a month of their noises and I'm about done with them... not the noise they generally make (I still like that noise) but the high pitched one that causes my ears to hurt!

Monsoon season you can start anytime now so they go away!!!

Yeah I only tend to use it for our businesses and to keep up with friends and family.

I'm obsessed with this song, feeling so much gratitude for my husband and the man he is and how lucky I am that he's mine. Also gratitude for the man my father chose to be, far better than the "man" his father was.

Grateful for all the strong men out there, don't let anyone tell you your toxic, we need you and all of your masculinity.
